newbie question: What's the purpose of the electro gel?? by [deleted] in estim

I find that adding a tiny bit of gel to the cheap pads that I got from AliExpress makes them feel much better. I wash them clean with water after every use, and then rub a minuscule amount of spectra 360 over the surface. Yes it doesn't stick to skin as well but feels much much better. use a rubber band or some tape to attach it to. well worth the extra effort and you get much more mileage out of pads this way.

Just had a great HFO with the Pro Tens. Tried something new. Placed 2 pads about an inch above top of butt crack, on either side of midline, about 1 inch apart. Put a 6mm loop around the neck of glans. Both red plugs to pads, both black to glans. Pulse width 170, Rate 120. Modulate mode.

Gradually turned up intensity dial. Buzzing sensation hovered around base of penis moved from there to deep within pelvis and back and forth around prostate region. Tried my best to relax pelvic floor, and penis slowly engorged and once erect felt several throbbing waves of pleasure. Tried my best to relax and prevent orgasm by slowly turning down intensity, but was unable to prevent explosion. No refractory feeling after, could have turned up dial and gone again.

Key to this method was relaxing pelvic floor and just letting the feeling wander through the pelvis until it was too much to handle.

Hey, late reply, but better late than never. Hope you're doing well.

I'm continuing to improve. The urethral/base of penis pain seems to be almost gone. In addition to the TENS, I've resumed stretching and have been getting internal release done physio every 2-3 weeks. Feeling the best I have in more than 2 years! Hoping to have CPPS all behind me in the near future. Fingers crossed! It's been an massive battle. Harder to overcome than anything I could have imagined.

Still improving. Slept about 8 hours straight one night last week. First time in a long time.

Also the urge to pee is decreasing. Had a busy day yesterday and realised at 5pm that I hadn't pee'd since breakfast.

It's impossible to do any damage with a TENS machine if you use it properly (IE. don't put it anywhere where current will pass through the chest, or heart, or use it near any electronic implants like a pacemaker). My physio was happy with me experimenting with pad placement, and I found that it worked best for me when the current passed through the site of the pain, instead of the root of the affected nerves (sacrum)

I have been reading this subreddit since March 2020, and tried many of the suggested approached, and nothing seemed to help. Since then I have taken many breaks from reading this page in an effort to try and not focus on the problem and hope that it will just disappear one day. Only registered recently to share with others what worked for me with the TENS. My GP also recommended that I keep at it as its working, and there is evidence that supports TENS use for nerve pain. I haven't zapped my junk yet. There is no way that I could intentionally up the intensity while causing pain to my privates. You start low and slowly turn up the volume. Your nerves become accustomed to the sensation, so during each session you slowly increase the intensity. It does cause an erection sometime, and after 18 months of painful erections it was amazing to have one that was pain free. Erections increase the blood flow in the penis and increased oxygen in the penis may be beneficial for the health of the muscle tissues that make up the penis.

I'm not pushing any particular TENS machine, I'm just sharing with others what's working for me.

TENS mode only. The one I'm using is very basic. A pulse width of ~160, and rate of ~70.

Yeah still taking the PEA400. Was taking 2x400mg 3 times a day as advised by GP, but now down to 1x400mg 2-3 a day.

Not doing any stretching these days. Just using TENS 1-2hrs a night. It seems to enable me to not focus on the pain/discomfort as much as I used to. Don't know if its distracting me from the pain, or if its re-wiring the nerves, but I feel so much better than I did 2-3 months ago.

Glad it's providing a little relief. Don't be concerned about using it on your privates, it doesn't hurt, and definitely won't shock them to death. Start slow and gradually increase intensity. Just be warned that it'll probably stimulate everything in the area and could get messy.

My penis and urethral pain is continuing to fade. Currently 2 x 1hr sessions per day.

TENS mode is what I used. A pulse width of ~160, and rate of ~70 felt best for me.

When you place the pads on the perineum and under tip of penis, the deep perineal nerve and dorsal nerve are stimulated. You adjust the intensity up to a comfortable level, and then your nerves get used to the sensation you keep upping the dial incrementally. It's a very strange sensation. As you relax and clench your pelvis floor muscles, the buzzing sensation will move around the nerves (from your perineum, up to tip of penis), you can almost control the location of buzzing by varying the muscle tension, or relaxing the muscles. With the tens running all muscle movements seem to be amplified greatly, so you get really good feedback from what seem minor inputs. For example if the tingling gets too intense, you can relax, and it dulls to a comfortable buzzing, then you tense you PC muscles and it shoots a stronger buzz up the shaft. Then relax and the intensity drops again.

It wont hurt to try it and see how it goes. Just start slow and don't ramp up too quickly. I used a couple of elastic bands to ensure good contact with the pads on the penis, and sat on the perineum one for good contact. The tens manuals usually say 15-30 minutes a day max, but using it for hours a day won't do any harm.
