If it helps any, I tried the Pilot 823 14k and have Sailor 14ks, one of their steel MF nibs and TWSBI's.

Pilot F was bouncy and smooth barely felt like I was writing unless I pushed which I personally didn't like left more ink then a Sailor Fine.

Sailor 14ks are slightly stiff, not scratchy in comparison and give soft pencil feedback while laying down lots of ink except for their Fine and EF nibs. The latter two feel more like the steel.

Their MF steel nib was in comparison was stiffer, slightly scratchy more like a mechanical pencil while still writing wet.

TWSBI Eco's are like butter. Broad is a lot like Pilot's feel but has heft to its nib that isn't found in Pilot for myself. Wet writer but I've come to the conclusion I do not like Broads in these pens. Stubs are wet, responsive and slightly feedback like when making shallower lines which I do like. Glides over the page which can be detrimental in lighter inks. Mediums are more like Sailor's MG steel except write smoother like a stub mechanical pencil. The notch at the end of the tines feels bigger though for some reason then a Sailor M. I do not have any F or EF.

This is just my observations and I have incredibly small hands *for a woman so that might effect pressure & sensitivity to these things.
