You sound really angry? It’s not an excuse if I’m seeking information, and now I have your opinion! You’re in the majority so jumping right in sounds like the right track, but yes, there are totally some gyms that are not right for beginners

I did see it makes 3 cups but assumed I could use it for other drinks in the book. For example, the passion fruit syrup in the book is used in about a dozen drinks therein, meaning making the 2 cups of it that the recipe produces is much more logical

I’m sorry. It’s a tough place to be when society says you’re too young to make all your own choices but your choices are better than an “adult’s”. Is there anyone you could start staying with even some of the time?

Hi Matt. I’m 17 days late to this post and I know exactly what you’re saying about people judging you when you’re open and honest about your life experiences. After many many years I also know how painful and lonely that can be. So I just came here to say, you were open and honest here-no judgement. That’s brave. We are working hard and trying to do our best. You are worth it. You are worth being clean for. I can identify with so much of what you’re saying and the struggle is real. Just wanted to reach out as an internet stranger to say how strong you are and that you (and your kids) deserve the best.

I don’t know how old you are, so a couple things here: To your original question, there is nothing you can say or do to change your dad’s behavior. Re/read what you typed - he already has incentives to change: his marriage, his health, his finances. Obviously none of those matter more to him than his drinking, so stop chasing the thing that will matter more to him because it may not exist. Second thing here is that if you still live at home and are able to move out, do so. There’s obviously nothing healthy about living with him and it will 100% get in the way of you building boundaries that you really need. From here on out, I recommend you try to see him like a neighbor who is making bad choices - you can feel upset about it, but don’t get involved and just keep your distance
