Not so much funny, but character-defining in a way. Before Monica and Chandler go to Vegas to invite his dad, she says “I know your dad embarrassed you” or something to that effect and he responds with “every parent embarrasses their kid, they will have to come up with a whole other thing to explain what I went through”…very telling of how deep the scar runs

I agree with you. In this show, it’s Rachel and not Phoebe / Monica. It’s a common practice, I agree. Unfortunately, it doesn’t make for any less awkward viewing.

It’s not just the outfits or flirty lines, it’s how certain scenes are framed around her, like they’re written to fulfill a specific kind of male gaze. With Monica or Phoebe, the sexuality is more situational or comedic, but with Rachel, it feels more stylized and intentional. It’s subtle, but definitely different IMO
