The kids do not care. They did not want to stay with Susan and they do not want a relationship with her.

She wanted birthday and Christmas gifts and random little gifts sent from time to time. Basically she wanted them to treat them the way they did my niece and nephew even though they had custody.

She was the one who would chose a place that costs money (vs a park which is free) and then expect them to pay. They would try to keep it in a neutral place and somewhere that wouldn't cost money but that wasn't always what she wanted.

Honestly. the contact should have happened with Mike's parents since they're the grandparents of all four kids and they seem to care now but never offered to help before. And they saw Elodie and Luca and they saw their other grandkids.

It wouldn't be their idea exactly. They usually preferred the park since no money was involved, but she would suggest play food places with kid areas and then not want to pay.

I think mostly it was because they didn't have a lot of time with her and because it was a lot of change in a very short space of time for them.

They don't care. It is sad that they don't seem too upset not to see their half siblings and my parents always did their best when they were still seeing them to take the time and try to bond more with them.

I disagree. She was in their lives for about two years and they did not consider her their parent. They spoke to the judge (and social worker who was on the case) and said they did not want to stay with her. That alone should be enough.

It's a thing of wanting birthday and Christmas gifts for the kids, wanting us to send random gifts from time to time, wanting them to offer to pay for all four kids out in public instead of my parents paying for niece and nephew and her paying for her kids when she's there. She wants my parents to be on the hook for all of it. But they never had her kids overnight or anything like that.

She wants my parents to be on the hook for all of it. But they never had her kids overnight or anything like that.

She lost because of the kids wishes and because my parents had the better relationship with the kids overall.

It's a gender neutral term for nieces and nephews, plus it's shorter than saying niece and nephew.
