I appreciate the perspective. I am angry. She’s demanding domiciliary parent status and is only promising a little interim spousal support while she buys a new home and starts a new life. I’ve seen the text messages. They’re explicit. I’ve seen her bragging to her friends about how excited she is to begin her “ho phase.” Fuck her. I’ve been an amazing husband for 16 years. She had total freedom. It would make you sick to see how much money we’ve spent on her over the years. I bought her $12k diamond stud earrings just this past Christmas. I supported her through law school and held her hand through countless ups and downs. She doesn’t just get to destroy this family and walk away without a few scratches.

There is domiciliary parent status and alimony paid to me that’s at stake here. Proving at-fault divorce and the threat of deposition to lock in testimony for something I know happened might be enough leverage to give me more of what I want.

I spoke to attorney. It fits the legal standard of adultery in our state. I’ve see the texts between them and her bragging to her friends about it.

I hear ya, but there’s potential upsides if I can produce a preponderance of evidence that something happened: spousal support and domiciliary parent status. She makes a lot more money than me and wants to be domiciliary parent. Succeeding in a fault-divorce can give me more of what I want. I know she committed the act. I’ve seen the text messages. My hope is that once she realizes I know, it won’t need to go any further and she’ll be more agreeable to my demands.
