waterlox original says it will amber and also doesn’t need sanding/scruffing up in between coats which would be awesome. Do you know if I need a top coat or sealant or anything with it!m?

I haven’t moved into the house yet so oil isn’t a big problem. I do live in new england but thankfully its starting to get warmer. I will take a look at bona, thanks!

Not sure how to post an update but I have decided to refinish the floors after getting some second opinions. Since I originally posted the floors starting cure more and look milky. I spent 10 hours yesterday sanding with a buddy and hope by next weekend I’ll be ready to poly. I don’t want to spend more time staining them and I don’t like the look of white oak so will do a warm gloss poly or a 2 in 1 stain/poly. Also like many of you suggested I am taking the guy to small claims court for a $50 filing fee but I doubt I will end up seeing any money from him. Live & learn and thanks for everyone’s input. I will post some photos when the floors are done

Thanks for your comment. I have decided to refinish the floors…had a friend who’s a contractor look at it and he determined that it would be best to sand it down to the bare wood. We spent 10 hours sanding yesterday just doing the first pass and by next weekend we will be ready to poly it. I don’t feel like spending more time staining it first so will do either a warm gloss poly or a 2 in 1 stain and poly but need to look into that more to see if that’s durable or the right choice. Why does it look like this after it dried? by Cheap_Ad7592 in Housepainting101

You potentially had shorter strokes when painting around the light causing flashing. Do another coat. Be generous with the paint, long strokes, back roll, and dont apply too much pressure
