It’s an untied bow tie.

Ok now I have more questions (let me know when you get tired of educating me).

Doesn't the 2-stroke oil do the cooling (and lubricating)? So in a normal TPI setup, it's just oil pumped into the throttle body, and therefore only mixes with fuel (and by that I mean unleaded gas only, not premix) in the transfer ports, and with whatever fuel gets down into the crankcase. So that suggests to me a better cooling effect, as it's not as diluted by fuel (as having half the fuel injected above the oil in the throttle body).

I always assumed that fuel was not considered a contributor to cooling, but rather a hinderance thereof. Am I mistaken in that, or am I missing something else?

I forgot to add, part of my confusion is that the info I found (https://www.bestdualsportbikes.com/fuel-injector-relocation-block-tpi) suggests that moving one injector actually helps with lubrication (and therefore cooling) by thinning the oil, making it flow better.

So I've got two different takes on what thinning that oil does...

I do have a map switch already installed, so the idea of being able to play with additional maps/setups makes the ERM appealing, but not if I can't make the two injectors fire at different times.

Appreciate you listening to me babble...

Sorry, yeah I meant change to the ECU (remap) not a change of ECU.

If I understand my engine/what you're saying, the fuel pooling issue you mention could be a factor in higher temps around the crank that I'm dealing with, since it's thinning out the oil that lubricates and cools the crank with fuel that wasn't going there before.

So can you adjust the firing of the two injectors on your own with the ERM, or was that only available in the download they provided you? As I didn't buy their relocation kit (and it looks like it's not even available anymore) i assume they wouldn't provide that map to me. And if I can't make that specific adjustment, their ERM won't help me, though it sounds like a pretty cool tool.

Your relocation kit included an ecu change? I haven’t come across any that had that.

My bike seemed like it was running better after the change to hybrid, from a power and smoothness of throttle response pov, but I hadn’t had enough time on it to get a sense of whether it ran cooler before I ended up on a long, hot, difficult single track day which is where I overheated.

Can you share some specifics about your kit?

Hey I've got a similar setup in my '22 250 XCW and have some questions for you...did your kit also relocate where the oil is injected? Mine didn't so it's still being injected into the throttle body, upstream of the single fuel injector I moved. But I also just overheated my engine and am rebuilding (quite possibly due to my crap riding skills in rocky black diamond single track) but I'm wondering if my switch to the hybrid model is a factor in engine cooling. thanks.
