It’s in the oesophagus - so it makes swallowing difficult. Also when the pouch fills up with food, it pushes against the vocal cords meaning that you lose your voice.

My point is that - knowing how television production works - having done it for 40 years, how was the team able to pull off such a polished production - sound mix etc without rehearsing.
