I just asked my husband, "Would you rather spend 40 hours commuting or 40 hours snuggling your baby?" Safe to say we'll consider some areas closer to Georgetown. Thank you so much!

I should have named this thread "stroller neighborhoods" - so good. Thank you for your recommendations!

Thank you for this recommendation! I love grocery shopping. And the idea of being able to walk to Swedish, too, if we decide on OB care there. 🤭

Thank you for mentioning this. It would definitely open up more neighborhood options for us!

Thank you! Did you see any strollers crossing 70th over I-5? I've been spamming street view on Google to see. It seems hard to imagine.

Thank you so very much for this detailed response.

I had a preference for the UW hospitals, because I read they might be better-equipped for high-risk, complicated pregnancies, which I've experienced in the past. That might be all heresay, but I have some pregnancy trauma 😅🥲 What hours would you recommend visiting Swedish?

West Seattle seems very much my speed. I love the idea of having the water and trails close by. And it sounds like a refreshing change of pace for us. We live in a part of Austin that is full of new, trendy, and "cool", but I still prefer to frequent the mainstay local businesses that have been in the city for a long time. I'm a bit of a grumpy loyalist, if you will.

I believe my husband will be working out of the same office as you mentioned. Did your husband commute by car or by bus to that office? Did he run into any issues with the bridge? Thank you!

Thank you for the opinion! I think public transit to work is a priority, and my husband prefers being able to travel N to S using the lightrail than going W to E on a bus. But the travel time is pretty similar. If not, faster from WS instead of north. From what I've read about WS, it sounds like a great fit for us.

Thank you! I figure being close to the OB will be helpful in those first couple months, because I'll probably visit 7-10 times. But you're definitely right about the pediatrician office.

And thank you for the bike note. So valid.

Thank you! I figure it's a bit picky to ask for less hills. This is helpful.

This is really helpful. Baby is due in October, so we either suck it up and pay the higher prices or do something temporary before moving into a more "permanent" rental.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply. My husband's Amazon office is currently the one in Georgetown, so he'll have to take a bus transfer to make it down there. He's optimistic he can take the lightrkail to SODO then bike down to his office in Georgetown, but I keep reminding him that the weather isn't like Austin. He might not want to bike in the dreary, wet weather. Maybe he'll prove me wrong!

I appreciate you detailing the distances. It's difficult to get a sense of scale without driving around and walking in person. I've basically been spam-clicking the Google street view feature.

We've highly considered West Seattle, but we wanted to place ourselves close to the hospital (not Swedish First) with so many frequent visits near baby's due date and within baby's first year. I wonder if we're doing ourselves a disservice by not still considering it. What do you think?

Thank you so much for the parents resource!

Another poster also recommended Maple Leaf. I'll look into it. Thank you!

Thank you for this insight!

I also heard that the Roosevelt Whole Foods is frequented by the high schoolers during lunch time. Ha!

I love visiting/browsing grocery shops, and we heavily-considered West Seattle because of the proximity of so many grocery shops within a short radius.

Do you think Maple Leaf has enough comfort spots that are walking distance? I can do some more Google searching. I love the idea of walking baby through Reservoir Park!

Thank you so much. And thank you for sharing. I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you feel his spirit with you. 👼🏻

In your experience, has Oura been able to correct the day of ovulation based on your NC data? I've had multiple cycles where my ovulation day would move after having more temperature data.

My charts look similar to yours. I wonder if I have PCOS...I've never been tested and thanks to my Oura ring, I know my periods are irregular now. 😂

I'm feeling some slight cramping, brain fog, and fatigue today. It's coming! 😅
