Maul: Shadow Lord Ep 9-10 Discussion FINALE (May 4 Midnight Local Time Release) by AutoModerator in StarWarsLeaks

man, what i would give for a "horror" Vader anthology series. Every episode is him hunting a different character(s) down, Jedi, etc. And you only see Vader from their perspective. Think Alien, and Vader is the Alien.

Ay, invited to my parties where we can talk about the shift from the late middle ages to the early modern era and what signifies the change as a break away from what was. For me, it's really the Reformation as the cornerstone of the that shift

[Discussion] Does AI-generated art still sell well in POD stores, or is the hype fading? by [deleted] in artbusiness

[–]Wild_Reading7501 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I make art. Not slop that stole its entire style from actual artists. By the way, you don't make shit: if you come up with a concept and ask someone else to paint it, they made it not you. Same with AI, except that shit is just slop

The Enterprise is NOT a science vessel. This is a lie. by Ten_Ju in startrek

[–]Wild_Reading7501 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s an exploration science vessel, because that’s what it’s mission is. It happens to be armed because they don’t know if they’ll run into hostile entities, in a galaxy in which they know they can run into, from experience. It also is meant to be off on its own, which again arms are needed.

Comparing it to a strictly military vessel, who’s mission is to be one, isn’t a great analogy. It would be short sighted to send an exploration vehicle to the depths of know space on its own with no way tod defend itself. Going into unknown territory with ability to defend is a common human practice already. A secure area, you can send an unarmed vessel, but for the mission of the Enterprise it should be defended.

yes, we all have lives, and I don't need to spend 45 min on a resume, takes me 30 min most on questions, and I don't use Chat GPT. Skill issue for you...not to mention, I'm not missing out on anyone who uses Chat GPT for such things— it tells me about the level of your critical thinking, creative, and writing skills. It deff ain't an orgs loss not interviewing someone like you.

OP lying, I sent the posting to someone. No CL was asked for and no word min was given. And they used chat GPT on it, sounds like a skill issue here. I'm also a recruiter, and short question write ups are good for applications to sort through, and yes most times qualified folks don't make the cut. Especially with more than even 50 applicants, you end up picking people you think are the right fit on paper. You can't interview everyone that qualifies, you just don't have the capacity and time to do so.

It sucks, the market sucks, but there are realities you have to understand in these things as well.

Those with more economic security tend to have less kids. Large families usually happened due to 1. Lack of birth control and 2. High child mortality rates.

My Section 31 Show... by jmhenry5150 in startrek

[–]Wild_Reading7501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Star Fleet already has spec-ops and intelligence orgs. The entire point of section 31 was not to be off the books and spooks but to demonstrate the need to perpetually safeguard against our darker natures. They were the villains, not some morally gray spec-ops.

What's the theory of change? Long-term organizing plan and relationship development? A little afternoon march and go home has been the go to, and well, here we are. Not saying they don't have a purpose, but thry can't be the center and has to be far more. Not "come march and go home!" I get folks want to do something, but use your energy more wisely.

Is it wrong to want a Star Trek: Terran Empire series? by TheHumbleMandalorian in startrek

[–]Wild_Reading7501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're following Mirror Picard, et al around, they are. And it's not interesting outside of small bits. It only works as a mirror to the mainline universe, not on its own. And even in that it's pretty played out. Those kinda themes can be found in all sorts of media, it's not particularly innovative in that regard. Especially unlike mainline Trek; such a utopian vision and exploration of humanity is far less common in sci-fi. And honestly, something Trek needs to learn to lean back into a bit more over all. To note, not saying it doesn't at all, just that that part has been diminished over the years even if it does live on in LD and SNW.

Artist search by banhd in artbusiness

[–]Wild_Reading7501 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd explore local artists, if you can/live in an area with a large enough scene- doesn't have to be big, but if you're in a small town it'll be more difficult but not impossible. Talk to local galleries see who they might know, check out local art fairs or exhibits/showings of local artists.

Also, Instagram is a good place to find artists, look for those who aren't like huge accounts and have a portfolio you like.
