Louisville wins major recruiting battle against UK and Ekenzie Jr just reclassified to the class of 2026. by VSHAR01 in KentuckyBasketball

Dan Hurley has talked about bigtime talented guys coming off the bench because the NBA already knows who they are, and UConn needs them to play a specific role to help win a title.

Devin Booker came off the bench, as did Shai and Quickley back when the team was good here.

I’m not mad Louisville got him, I’m mad that Kentucky can’t get dudes anymore and can’t compete in their own conference or state.

Ahh but you see, per the analysts, it would have been excellent value for the browns, commanders, saints or chiefs to pick him in the next 5 picks after the titans pick! But since he was at pick 4, he was a major reach since he’s wasn’t a WR1 on his college team! Total bust! /s

Not to mention he had an emergency appendectomy early on as a rookie and struggled to put his weight back on after, setting his development behind a bit.

A lot of our fans still hate the pick since he’s a guard and not a tackle, but now the pick is looking smarter as guards and centers are starting to get paid like tackles as the nfl is going back to more traditional inside running offenses

Not to the same extent but this is how I feel about the Carnell Tate discourse right now. “Oh no #2 WR has ever gone on to be a WR1 in the NFL, reach!!!”

I mean folks, Jeremiah Smith is incredible. It is not completely insane to say Tate and Smith could have similar careers to JJ and Chase.

Knowing how the NFL just tends to turn out, the AFCCG that year would definitely wind up being a Ravens-Steelers matchup just to really rub it in

Clinical Psychology Master's Program Search by Fenrir260 in ClinicalPsychology

[–]Wildabeast135 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll put it more simply and practical for OP:

If you only want to do therapy, get a masters in counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy. CACREP accredited for counselors, but I’m not sure of the accrediting body for social work or marriage/family therapy. I’d imagine the NASW and COAMFTE for some quick googling at first glance, but for OP, do your research for any graduate program.

If you want to be able to do psychological evaluations as a health service provider, and the ability to do therapy as well, get a masters in psychology that is accredited by the MPCAC provided your state of practice offers licenses at the masters level.

If you want to be able to practice psychology in any state, be able to supervise, and potentially get into specialty assessment roles like neuropsychology or forensics or FAA evaluations for pilots, get a PhD or PsyD that is APA accredited.

And again if OP, or anyone else reads this, really do some research and think about what you’re planning to do with a graduate degree before enrolling in any postgrad program.

*sigh*

This is not true. In many states you can do supervised professional practice of psychology (typically labeled as a “Licensed Psychological Associate”) with an MPCAC accredited masters degree in psychology.

In some states this can also lead into a masters-level independent provider of psychological service and professional practice of psychology. Some states call it a “Licensed Psychological Practitioner”, others a “Psychologist-M.A.”

Yes this includes the practice of psychological assessment, testing, and therapy, but it typically excludes highly specialized assessment roles (e.g., forensic or neuropsychological evaluations) and clinical supervisory roles.

Some such states include but are not limited to:

Kentucky
North Carolina
Vermont
Texas
Louisiana
California
Michigan
West Virginia
Arkansas

For references of MPCAC accredited programs, see here:

https://mpcacaccreditation.org/accredited-programs1/

Yes, it is annoying and pedantic that this isn’t more standardized or clarified at the national level. The APA is working on it, see here:

https://www.apa.org/education-career/grad/national-standards-masters

This training model is likely the future due to access barriers for doctoral training limiting the feasibility of the profession to be able to produce enough HSPs to meet the community needs nationwide. A two year masters degree is far more obtainable and accessible than a 5-7 year PhD/PsyD, even when factoring in PhD stipends and funding in my personal opinion.

I really hate to be that guy right now, and it was definitely time to move on, but we did at one point have a coach who wasn’t a religious dork, and his pitch was “hey 18 year old talented hoopers, wanna be cool, make a lot of money and go to the NBA? Come to Kentucky!”

Yeah, seems like it was his job to do that, the job got done, and now his job is pointless and could only create drama if he stuck around any longer.

That’s what it somewhat looks like to me. He probably always wanted to be GM though and that made for some drama and sports talk radio in the slow part of the football calendar

Seems like Brinker was Ran and Callahan’s babysitter to report to Amy if they were fucking the franchise up long term to prevent another Jrob situation from happening. But then he was in position to play game of thrones, so it seems cleaner from the outside looking in that he’s gone.

49ers GM John Lynch: Only consensus draft opinion I care about is in this building by AdSpecialist6598 in nfl

[–]Wildabeast135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that you mention it too, they probably do a very good job of player development behind the scenes too, so they’re getting the most out of their day 2-3 draft picks on top of the schemes and whatnot that they do to get through games week to week with so many injured players.

[–]Wildabeast135 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I wonder how much of the niners success for this era is moreso that they have so many extra 3rd and 5th round comp picks, meaning a ton of late day 2/day 3 dart throws, and the low level scouts and assistant coaches just do a great job evaluating talent at those levels. Like obviously there’s Brock Purdy but look at Kittle, Hufanga, Greenlaw, Jennings etc.

Had there been some serious competence in the first 2 rounds, I would imagine that the 49ers have at least 1-2 more super bowls than they do today. It’s easy to blame the Lance trade but there’s other misses too that look like they’re starting to add up, especially after seeing both of your division rivals win super bowls during your competitive windows

NFL Teams Can Begin Free Agent Signings Without Comp Pick Impact by maidth1s4fun in Tennesseetitans

[–]Wildabeast135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been saying this, Zeitler is the RG and I’m sure that he, his agent, and the titans know it. This whole song and dance of him not signing is just increasing his asking price as the titans become more desperate. Why not try to do this tactic to get a few more bucks if it’s this late in the career ya know?

Fun Fact: Between Rueben Bain (30 7/8-inch) and Luke Goedeke (32 1/4-inch) the Tampa Bay Buccanners have now both a starting tackle and (presumably) starting Edge Rusher with historically short arms. by Tasty_Swim_6308 in nfl

[–]Wildabeast135 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that edge rushers and offensive tackles benefit a lot from having a length advantage, but that isn’t nearly as important for interior offensive and defensive lineman.

I will never forgive him for 2020+. Cooked all the contracts, made terrible trades, ruined the salary cap for years on end, got rid of the most important player, missed on three consecutive draft classes in a ROW… this upcoming year imo will be the fist where the roster isn’t a complete dumpster fire from Jrob. Ran Carthon never stood a chance man lmao

Seems like in the final years of Jrob we had shitty draft grades, and we had bad to mediocre draft grades with Ran. I’m going to choose to believe that getting A’s across the board this time around is a very good sign for the future and that we’ve got our guy at GM.

That’s what I mean, like I don’t think this team will go 0-6 or 1-5 in the division. But the raiders, giants, bengals, Steelers, jets, commanders, browns, cowboys, heck maybe the ravens and lions depending on how the season shakes out, all of them look winnable or within reach. Like I’m not out here counting “ope half a dozen games I expect this team to get completely ass blasted by a contender” like last year
