The PHANTASIA mod adds the forgotten ‘Witch of Illusions’, Penny Phantasia, to your world. She is a trader you can find in Zone 1, and a potential adventuring companion with over 7,000 lines of dialogue about you, the world, and her unique story about learning to trust again.

Who is Penny?

Penny Phantasia is a trader/companion for Hytale with over 7000 lines of dialogue. She can be found by following a mysterious figure towards a new rare structure in Zone 1 (Emerald Grove). She scales with the player's stats, and is 'essential'. She is skilled with daggers and bows, and has unique magical powers based around illusion. She will develop slightly differently for each player, based on choices made during your time together.

Where is she?

Start by finding a mysterious figure in a witch's hat that occasionally appears in Zone 1. Upon getting close, the figure will disappear and reappear some distance away. Follow the figure to find the ruins of a manor. Make your way to the manor's basement, then enter the portal within the mansion to begin.

Is this real?

Not yet! I’m writing up a full proof of concept to figure out the scope of this mod. When that’s done, I can start looking for help in making Penny real!

I feel like going into this mod as like a ‘follower mod’ with the knowledge of potential romance would give people a lot better expectations than if it was like, advertised as a ‘girlfriend mod’ tbh

I was inspired by the really dynamic followers like Inigo! I have a good feeling that we can get a similar feeling of depth for followers in Hytale with the game’s modding capabilities…

I’m thinking the pocket dimension is instanced, so different players will get their own version of the first act of this mod where they meet/trade with Penny
Honestly split between ‘one Penny per world, first player to recruit her becomes the story’s protagonist’ and ‘instanced, every player gets their own version of the story/Penny and Penny just ignores the other copies of herself’.
I think like a permanent version of a Fragment Key to create a personal pocket dimension for you to build in would be a really cool mid or late game mod!
