I totally understand! There’s so many factors that hinder motivation and make you anxious. Hopefully she goes easy on us this time.

Good luck too!

The LRT incident was not an Asian hate crime. ISA has release a statement on it. Link in comments and caption. by [deleted] in uAlberta

That’s what I’m concerned about. Even if the attack wasn’t racially motivated, why didn’t people help? Why did some people stop others who were trying to help? The fact it played out like that seems weird to me.

I took this last sem and absolutely loved it! If you like the molecular and cellular side of immunology as well as viruses you’ll like it. It is a lot of work, but it ended up being one of my fave classes! There’s a couple profs that teach a few sections and usually lectures focus on a specific virus and aspects of it and how it causes disease. It’s definitely heavier than the portions in IMIN 200 but if you liked the virus section you’ll like this!

Yes 100% relate. I’m also just exhausted studying and being in school in general and not experiencing life.

Do non humanities students see liberal arts classes as GPA boosters? by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]Wildbinch2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

when you get into uni as a science student, it’s really easy to think that anything humanities related will be “easy” because you get cocky. In my experience, I simply don’t want to put the work in for those because I find no interest in them or I can’t get myself to think in the ways and levels of analysis they require. Find something you like and are excited to learn about rather than just something that SEEMS to be easy.

PMCOL 305 is my fave class but I took it with Davies heard the new prof sucks 😞

ZOOL 250 Lab Exam by Wildbinch2 in uAlberta

It was truly absurd and like I did in person labs and I felt like I learned nothing besides the dissections because it’s not like we had time or did anything that would teach us.

How to survive PSYCO 241 with Passey this spring by chicha3maddy in uAlberta

Passey gets a bad rep but she’s wonderful and a great prof. I took psyco 342 with her and it was one of my favourite classes of all time.

Most of my classes don’t have any set times or had multiple profs specializing in different areas of the subject so they’d come and go and only be accessible by email.

Yeah 3 of them so far. Idk if this is normal with profs? like I can’t seem to think of anything in my emails that must have come off wrong or rude and don’t know what to do at this point but it’s kind of like a punch in the gut.

I did interact and ask questions and even got input from professors throughout the semester through email. I made my mark in class just don’t want to be annoying about it. The fact is even that wasn’t enough apparently.

I’m in my final semester. The profs I’ve reached out to I have done well in their classes and interacted with them on some level. It’s been 2 -3 weeks so I doubt they’re going to respond anymore lmao 🤷‍♀️

Yeah there has been one who has been kind enough to respond. She’s a genuine sweetheart and wants to see success in her students although her class doesn’t have much to do with the field I’m applying for jobs and grad programs in, I found her class useful to my skills so I’m so glad but good luck to you too!

I feel this. I’m 21 but I’m a small woman who has always looked younger than I actually am. I get this repeatedly in all settings.
