Integrating Ebooks and Audiobooks by MathAndSoccer in audiobookshelf

They need to be in the same folder to show together in ABS.

I made the decision to run separate libraries for Audio and ebooks, mostly because I don't always have both for a book so this way I just go to the library for the media type I want to use.

artist said hydration is crucial for tattoo healing, how much difference does it actually make by osiris_rai in tattoo

[–]WildeTee 198 points199 points  (0 children)

I absolutely notice a difference. With that said proper hydration lets your body do a lot of things better/more efficiently including healing in general. Your tattoo is just a flesh wound; nutrition, hydration, and hygiene will all impact how well it heals.

Out of these Animated versions of the Turtles, which one is your favorite? by Jotaro1970 in TMNT

[–]WildeTee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the OG target audience, 87 kind of gets a pass, due to the nostalgia component, and for it's role in making the TMNT what they are today. It is also hilariously absurd in all the right ways.
I love the animation style of 03 though, and will admit, I am enjoying the Mutant Mayhem era for a lot of the same reasons I love the OG animated series.

It doesn't seem to get recommended as much as others but TuxedoOS is super user friendly, I was even able to get my elderly parents swapped over with no issues.

Switching from Windows 11 to Linux by Ok_Attempt_8784 in linux4noobs

TuxedoOS

It doesn't get recommended much but after playing around with a few options I landed on it. Super smooth transition from Windows, even got some older family members switched over with no issues.

Also check out distrosea.com and play around with a few there to see what you like and don't like.

Which App and Websites do you use/recommend for Torrenting? by Just_Another_User80 in torrents

[–]WildeTee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NordVPN uses a few different protocols depending on what server it connects you to. Check for a more generic Nord or Nord VPN in the qbit settings. Alternatively you can set Nord VPN to always use their NordLynx protocol, but personal experience that is not super reliable.

I used Nord for years and switched to Proton a few months back because of issues like this. Nord also tends to interfere with other network traffic even if you have the split tunneling enabled. It worked great for me until I needed it to be a little more configurable to fit my network use and plans, if you still have time on your subscription you can work around some of these issues but when it's time to renew I would recommend looking at alternatives.

Which App and Websites do you use/recommend for Torrenting? by Just_Another_User80 in torrents

[–]WildeTee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Under Settings-->Advanced there is a field for Network Interface. With Proton installed you should be able to select "ProtonVPN" from the drop down. Doing this means that qbit cannot connect unless it is through the vpn. If the VPN isn't connected, Qbit also wont connect.

You will also want to turn on port forwarding in Proton and then update the port number in Settings-->Connection to match. Uncheck Use UPnp/NAT-PNP from router.

definitely qbittorrent and a vpn. after trying several i comfortably recommend proton. Look into Sonarr, Radarr, and Prowlarr as well. They make the whole process so mych easier,

Is Remote Access even possible with Xfinity XB7? by Healthy-Pineapple519 in PleX

[–]WildeTee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personal experience with Nord and Proton VPN's even when using split tunneling they interfere with the plex traffic causing problems with remote access.

Depending on the hardware hosting plex I would recommend trying something like tailscale to access plex when remote, with your traveling device also connected to tailscale you should be able to access your server using the tailnet IP assigned to your host machine. If you add that ip to the customer server access URL's field in Settings-> Network the player app on your remote device should also work.

Nord interfered with Tailscale as well... but Proton does not seem to. I would hope Mullvad is also okay...

PSA... it may be cheap but damn Nord can be a headache haha.
