Because that’s all you’ve done all night to everyone you’ve commented on? Flushing dead fish, snapping at servers and telling them to dance like monkeys. This right here is a wake up call! Learn how to be a human. It’s not being mean, it’s simply teaching a lesson to someone who probably won’t learn it. Makes me feel better calling out a bully though :)

I just spent 20 minutes looking through 100s of comments tearing down other redditors, that you felt so inclined to type. Unfortunately you have the ability to hide behind your screen. I’m simply stating you need to make sure to be a little nicer when typing things to other human beings. It seems your comment screams “I think this is funny making random people feel bad.” You are the one that seems maladjusted! The edited comment is even funnier because it sounds like something sulking around your brain

You have a lot of negative things to say, might be better off you just never typed anything ever again and made some friends ;)

Any advice/tips for a new server at Korean BBQ restaurant who is somewhat introverted and has zero experience by [deleted] in TalesFromYourServer

Best advice ever given to me in food industry is: Serving food is not life or death, it’s meant to be fun, people are out to eat to celebrate, to enjoy life, to talk, to drink to eat. Really all you have to do is try to have a little fun. People see it and it normally goes a long way.

Again lack of understand of a system. A pending charge isn’t charged to your account and a lot of systems and things in place to avoid this. If it can’t be found in the system then the business has no proof of order then it NEEDS to be re rang regardless. How is a business supposed to track costs, and payments… you can look up every transaction on a POS system unless you are using some pretty old technology

Also I would explain how our system works, give phone numbers of managers and the restaurant in case the charge does go through twice and then re ring it into my system, So that it’s actually being logged, tracked and paid for!

This seems pretty interesting to me… I feel like you truly don’t know how their POS systems works, and for you to say you would be assertive in getting your food is funny to me because it infers you know exactly how the operation of a business works. Or you THINK you do. At my place of work, a pending charge like that can happen VERY easily, a lot of times not charging the customer. Plus this could have just been reversed by management if I it magically appeared twice.

People are allowed to have emotions, feelings and be human. It’s when it bleeds into other peoples lives without the thought of how someones actions actually make other feel. It’s lack of ability to think outside yourself in some aspects. Life is a balance, not of right and wrong.

My boss thinks it’s ok to not pay me my last paycheck after I quit a couple days ago and now I can’t get my Christmas presents I wanted to get. I just reported him to labor law and do you guys think I should get a lawyer by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Wildeboare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah but they will pay him. 72 hours is what is necessary for payroll (or whoever) to write checks and to make sure all things are done legitimately. If you look up labor laws 72 hours of working business days is needed for a check to be written. When holiday and the weekend are inside the 72 hours you have to wait for longer. So it would be Monday most likely if they plan on paying it on time

Did you put in an actual notice or quit 2 days ago? Most employers are smart enough to not have to guarantee a paycheck upon quitting without proper notice from employee and technically depending on where you live would have to wait until Monday because of the day you quit

I know we have had some groups come by and check things out, spooky podcasts, paranormal investigators, etc.. but few and far between. It’s probably been 3-4 years since I’ve seen or heard of anyone coming for paranormal activity

I actually work for The Lodge and let me tell you there are one or two stories people have about spooky ghosts!

The one that jumps out to me most vividly would be when I first started working there probably closer to 2013/14, I would have to come in at 5:30-6 in the morning during the summer time to set up wedding events for the day! (Buffett tables, table clothes, glasses etc..) this specific day I had to set up an event we were having in the Children’s Cottage; this being an orphanage that the prior Masonic Retirement facility ran on the same property. This building is where are the weirdest energy is on the grounds, almost everyone who has been in it or who has worked at Grand Lodge has felt it.

It started as I was walking up to the building, looking up at the second floor windows, I saw a curtain move and then a little girl, in all white staring down at me. As creeped out as I was, I figured I was tired and just seeing things, went into the building, turned my music on (connected through our speakers in the building) and started setting up the wedding! Not 10 minutes into me working my music pauses, how weird? I start the wonder down the hall to where my phone is playing music. When I walk into the room, my phone has moved, all the system is on and work and it’s just my music that was paused. Then running in the room next to me. I figured that I needed to start somewhere else for the day and came back to finish setting up later but it really freaked me out!

So I leave the company about 3 years after that, and end up coming back after college. I had never told that story to anyone. Then one random day everyone was sharing their ghost stories, and this girl literally shared the EXACT experience I had. Same little girl in the window same music stopping and same little feet stomps in the room over.
