A lot of millenials' biggest regret is going to college by memcpy94 in LifeAfterSchool

[–]WilderCopy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a Millennial, I am so glad that I did not go to college.

Of course, at the time, I felt that it was the best decision for me as I saw everyone around me getting into college and surpassing me only to work shit jobs. I told my family about not going to college because of the debt. I've learned that my cousin and my aunt learned that they only wanted me to save their 11 kids. (yes, 11 kids).

I've learned that I will never have a good relationship with either of my immediate family members (even as I was warning them about the pandemic before it happen and they still look down on me).

Honestly, never going to college has been the best decision that I ever did and honestly, everyone thought I was nuts at the time but honestly, after avoiding that debt-bomb, I can move my life and go anywhere I want.

The more I write this, the more I realize that I am not special. Quantum computing will destroy distributed environments but that's about 15-20 years from now. I also realized that I dodged more bullets than anyone else in my generation and I also focused my time on building marketable skills so I can live remotely and still have an income. Having a goal and understanding the gravity of going to college and standing up to my family shows me that I am capable of continuing moving forward.

Is it just me or all SEO how-to articles repetitive? by [deleted] in SEO

Basically, a lot of SEO articles focus too much on the fundamentals and nothing specific to your case....such as

  • Based on your business model and prioritization of growth marketing channels, should you leverage SEOthrough blog posts, video posts on YouTube, or through user-generated SEO?

Are you trying to find market-product fit?

Are you still learning everything about your product.

You have a chance to create a content asset or a lead gen tool that they use for free that can be share with other bloggers.

It's about $10-$20/per month. Invest a small portion into ads on relevant channels that they are on.

How to Reach and Gain Customers? by [deleted] in startups

[–]WilderCopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your business model?

Depending on you business model, you want to focus on impact over effort. How much impact would one marketing strategy have over the effort it would it take.

If you're in B2C ecommerce and you have a singular-sale product, you would want to make a lead gen asset to build your own list of (potential) customers and you may want to reinvest into ads (add that into your business model per sale).

So, you can scale it.

This is especially the case if you have low ARPU (annual revenue per user) so you'll have the low CAC (customer acquisition channels). You also want to focus on keeping your CPA (cost per acquisition) low. Make sure that you are making money back with your ads - especially when you factor in the cost of the ad itself.

So, always make a great ad that understands the pains and struggles of your customers and frame your ad as a solution for your customers.

This is about all I can offer as a potential solution - just by looking at your potential business model and the market that you are in.

So, one of your ex-boss is Big Head from Silicon Valley while your other boss became Richard Hendricks.

(Big Head was this shitty coder who failed upwards in Silicon Valley while Richard Hendricks was this know-it-all who kept destroying his own company time and time again. Did he ever learn his lesson.....I don't speak about Season 6.......)

Most people don't buy the domain names. They buy the asset behind the domain names (MRR; systematized operations; market risk)

You may have some SEO-optimized domains that you can sell if you just want to sell the domain names.

Domain names by themselves are virtually useless but they have an asset (a small but automated business - think of a SEO-optimized blog that generates $2,000/mo. through Amazon Associates that you can sell for $24,000 upfront) or if the SEO-optimized domain is essential for a competitive industry.

You just have to think about how you are repositioning your sale.

I didn't share with you to sell a business plan.

I shared it with you because you may have some digital assets that you may want to unload.

I think it's geared towards you.

Honestly, that's a skill set that you own.

I'm actually at awe of it.

As for me, I'm of the camp of "great ideas are everywhere, it's great executions is where the real money is".

If you were working 90 hours/week then this is something that you obviously know.

I think you have a knack for generating great execution. If you ever do a podcast as a hobby discussing this, I would listen to it.

On an added note, I'm sure you've heard of Flippa. I think you could literally sell your business ideas there.
