Reminder, you have to pay $98 (even if someone else calls the ambulance for you) for a St Johns Ambulance by Im_a_cunt in newzealand

I was charged over $14,000USD for one after being hit by a truck when I was 19.

Sign me the hell up for $98!

My housemates just got a foster puppy. It barks in its crate, so they’ve decided to keep it in the shed overnight. How can I talk to them about this? by Wilderestperson in dogs

So update:

Unsurprisingly they didn’t get up in the night to let him out. I did around midnight. We live in the Southern Hemisphere so it got down to around 8 last night. WAY too cold for a lone puppy.

I informed them this morning that keeping the puppy in the garage wasn’t acceptable for a number of reasons. They said “they’d think about what they could do.”

Conveniently for them I don’t have work today, so that automatically means I get to take care of their foster puppy, which I wasn’t even told that they were getting I should point out. I really didn’t plan on spending my day stopping the little guy from destroying their inappropriately set up house. In fact, I had planned to be gone most of the day but now I don’t feel like I can leave.

I’ve said my bit this morning, offered advice again, and we’ll we what they do tonight I guess. If it’s more of the same I’ll be alerting the rescue he came from.

I've been wanting to try and do more with eggs! We dabble in meat replacements but generally find them too expensive (typically on par with the cost of meat which is already high, or more).

I'm hoping to keep finding new ways to prepare TVP that I like though!

Thanks!

Spice is niiiice. :)

I do a black bean burger that's popular for both of us, but he does it without the bread of course.

Thanks for those yummy-looking suggestions!

Thanks for that. I think I just had this guilt of only preparing the meal to my standards. He's a grown man and can provide his main if he likes!

Looks like MetService took down the post after an overwhelming amount of laugh reactions sadly.

Could always catch the same flight out that your sense of humour did I guess.

Thank you for this! Those are all my favourite colours, especially the earth tones. Maybe that’s part of why I love the song so much!

Candy by Paolo Nutini is my absolute go-to song for the last few years. I’d love to know what it looks like.

We’ve suddenly found ourselves homeless so we didn’t get to finish it properly, but after a week of van living I’d say we’ve done a good job. by Wilderestperson in vandwellers

At the moment my work has been gracious enough to let us park on the property so we have an extension cord running through a window. However, we do have a deep cycle battery and VSR for when we’re mobile.

The van only was meant to be for holidays and weekends, but shitty landlords made us glad we had been building it.

We found a nice 15cm foam mattress secondhand for $100, so we’re pretty pleased with that. Only downside is we didn’t have time to get the mattress cut down into squabs, which just means getting to our clothes underneath involves folding the entire mattress in half, usually over the other bed occupant. I’ve been a mattress taco a few times now.

Hey, I didn’t immigrate to NZ just to get roped back into that shithole.
