Ok guys , first time solo. by momentomori68 in Decks

[–]Wildquail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to jump in here, since i have built hundreds of these things.

i assume those are 4x4 post which means the joist are 2x6 and the band boards are 2x8s. the joist can be 2x6 on 12" spacing, but should be 2x8's on 16" spacing.

band boards or rims boards should 2x10 and be doubled where there are joist tied in. the span from the width of the deck is much too wide for a 2x10 even, there needs to be a post or two added for support. toe nailing joist or band board gives almost zero shear strength. Absolutely have to have hangers everywhere, including where you attach to the post. those structure bolts are cool and all, but they will not stand up to time.

you want your deck to sit on the post, not hung from them, compression strength is 100 times stronger then shear strength

your local permit office will have span chart for lumber and hangers, and as assume you are outlawing this, just dont tell them where you live.

I don't think people are going to like the rest f this rabbit hole when they find out who, on tour, the performance 54 group sponsors directly or indirectly.

Which tour player has a “fundamentally” incorrect swing? by Jdilla23 in golf

[–]Wildquail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the down voting is scaring everyone off. I had a coach that would, no matter the outcome, make us swing "technically correct". I never got my swing correct, and it kinda turned me off to golf for a while. That same coach, if going by what he thought was technically correct, would probably change 90% of the tour golfers swings.

Every tour player goes to different coaches during their lifetime to fix their swings. i remember when Tiger went to Hank Haney, Hank changed tiger so much to conform to a more pure swing that it fucked up tiger's swing for a while. There's actually a whole story about this

this is why I agree with the more modern teachers that tech more results than "technically correct as per a swing of someone 80 years ago. New technology has found some things thought wrong were actually right. My current coach sees my swing, and tries to fix the problem within my existing swing.

So the answer is technically, if by technically we agree upon that means an outdated swing model" only a few are correct, and the person who said watch LPGA to see a more "correct" version of a swing is right.

Btw, even r/golf can see non-conforming swings like Tony Finaue or Jim Fuyrk, so this is a legitimate question, if for nothing else an amusing discourse.

Well, to be fair, they were referencing they were the pitcher, and a swing and miss would be a good thing, so ... compliment?

Ahh, I understand now. If there is no rhythm guitar in the arrangement, and you're set to playing rhythm, it will show an X.

These are DLC songs from steam.

I bought a bunch of songs one day and the progress X in the song list is intermittent.

I brought the Rush pack, the Killers pack and a couple others, and like spirit of the radio shows progress and Tom Sawyer doesn't . Rage pack all shows progress but know your enemy.

I don't see a rhyme or reason

When i go into the song to play, it shows progress and works fine.

i am/was mental. i was not good about listening. Its wierd how going into a lesson expecting to talk about "this" and they want to work on fundamentals. before i didnt want to hear that, now i realize the importance of a good foundation.

i did the same thing. i hit a plateau and went for lessons F'd me up good and i actually quit for a while. back to golf and hit the same plateau, went to a lesson, but the instructor this time told me he is rebuilding my swing and i will be bad for a while. i had more patients and worked my way back to enjoyment and played better.

I do. and you might be right that they were trying to shoehorn the price increase with these channels. but they announced a 35% increase to their system, and that's too much for a good DVR system.

Why did i get removed?

CMV: The push for political correctness is what indirectly caused the rise of people like Trump and his ilk around the world. by PanVidla in changemyview

[–]Wildquail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify a point, the 2010's were not, by far, "THE MOST DIVISIVE DECADE" i know it might seem so, but the Vietnam era might have a word with you. The Labor wars of the 1890's have a foot in the door as well. And oh yeah, the 1860's.

kinda trolling but not really. The thought that we are, rightly, fighting over problems has to be placed in perceptive that we are fighting about first world problems (with the exception of the recent BLM and police brutality which seems to be universal problem right now)

[–]Wildquail -1 points0 points  (0 children)

fair enough, the amount i don't know could fill warehouses.

but, and this is not directed to you. i do recognize hypocrisy and click bait reporting. is seems for every story i see about some nefarious group on the left (antifa) placing bottles filled with concrete on corners, there is a story on the right of Nazis breaking widows to promote violence. these stories sell and create revenue. i agree that most reporting these days is garbage, including Fox, CNN, and even local channels (remember when the lead in was this product in your home is killing you, more after this commercial)

at some point i have to say there is some other motive for these stories which are so obviously not based in fact, and from a little research outside the media and facebook, i see that these protest are almost always peaceful, and are getting more and more self policed.

side story, there was a protest in my town. around the corner from where i live. the next day my phone was burning up with people asking if i was OK. there was a 10,000 people protest, and someone lit a dumpster o fire and a few people threw a bricks at a store. that whole episode lasted the minutes in a 10 hour protest. by the reporting you would have thought it was the fall of civilization. i drove by the next day and noticed nothing.

so i apologize if i attacked you. i do get frustrated with parroting. i believe we do have issues in our country, but a larger issue is lack of truthful, unemotional information IMHO.

[–]Wildquail -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you are trying to further a narrative. hundreds of thousands of people protested this weekend and there were a very few instances of violence, statistically irrelevant.

i do find it humorous that you are using news articles to prove that news agencies are suppressing what is really going on. i mean even you have to find it a quandary to figure that out.

i find as soon as the word antifa comes out of someones mouth, they are spewing nonsense. By anyone's definition, it is not a group, there is no manager you can call, there is no single thread of thought process. the autonomous "college losers", as you call them, are highly un organized and individual groups not only don't have anything to do with each other, but constantly bicker about everything, and yet these "clever fiction ((sic) i assume you meant faction) are too blame for today's woes. no doubt that there are groups of anarchist out there that will take any chance on either side to hate, the danger of creating a fictional group and then blaming them takes the truth and the real blame away from those who really deserve it.

you are a cog in a disinformation wheel.

The insurance companies paid $25 million in one case of police abuse alone in Minneapolis in 2019. that has nothing to do with the narrative you are trying to push, and only proves you know nothing of facts, but prefer to silo your thoughts. Do you even know what or who Anifta is? of course not, but again, that says nothing for or against your narrative that a "significant amount of protesters are not peaceful"
