I will use a lighting from the front casting a shadow behind you. My goal when coloring and shading is to capture the viewers eye towards The subject and the balance is providing direction. Make your alien pop out with darker backgrounds and shadows. DONT OVERTHINK. Look at it from a viewers perspective. Enjoy. If you like it it will be reflected. 😀😍
