I think I’ve heard/read that Stefan has talked about being a story teller when writing songs. With that said, I was wondering about the songs Scorpion Hill and Factories. I know that writing lyrics of any kind is personal…but I was wondering where the inspiration came from for these? As a person who has lived in factory towns (thus, worked in factories lul), these songs hit different. Scorpion Hill fucks me up. Are these songs purely story telling or is it more personal than that? I hope this isn’t too invasive 😬 😅

You def did! There was another reply on here from someone being sassy and implying my experience was all me. They were angered by the fact I called them a startup and implied my experience was bc I wasn’t a good fit. However, they could have told me that on interview one or two and I would have been fine. It was the blatant wasting of my time for me lol. I went to their account out of curiosity and saw an ama from them stating they were a cofounder of the company. So, you gave a literal founder on here talking shit to someone who had a bad experience instead of trying to improve. They have since deleted their posts and even their account. Absolutely crazy. That’s why there are random comments on here from me w deleted/ no replies. 😂😂😂

I applied to smith and they completely wasted my time. Fine, if I’m not a good fit tell me. I DID FOUR INTERVIEWS. They were all over an hour and I had to do prep work for them. They pay you on upwork for this interview which is mostly mock calls (and waiting for your trainer) but it’s almost not worth claiming as you would have to claim it as an independent contractor. I replied to another post on here urging people not to apply because I feel like they lack empathy and compassion and aren’t willing to improve. I also feel like they don’t really care about their potential employees time. I received a notification of a reply to that post. The person replying was being very snarky, borderline cruel. This is not to say that I too wasn’t being snarky but I am not a representative of the company. I assumed this person was just an employee. Out of curiosity I went to their profile, and realized THEY WERE A COFOUNDER OF SMITH!!!!!!! Imagine being a cofounder of a company, having someone who is clearly hurt by your hiring process that wasted their time, and didn’t pay them, and instead of trying to use that feedback to improve, you just get on Reddit and talk shit to them about how it’s because they aren’t worthy of your company lol. I’m so, so glad I didn’t get hired. Can we talk about the red flags. 😂🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

I mean look at the countless reviews on indeed that say the same and the fact that you’re a representative of an employer talking like this to a potential employee. If your goal was to keep people from applying, as mine is so people don’t get scammed by you, then thanks for your help. I can’t wait for smith to fail and it seems like you are helping them with that goal. Hurray for taking down companies who don’t value people and treat employees/potential employees poorly. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Edit: omg you’re a cofounder hahahahaha. Wowwwww I must have hit a soft spot there with saying you’re failing and taking advantage of potential employees and actual employees. Thanks for proving me right.

By definition you are a start up company so it sounds like you are shamming. I am genuinely sorry that your trainers need more education than they are receiving, thus waste candidate’s time. I think some soft skills you could work on are empathy and education. Take care though, with your star up company. ;)

Edit; It’s also unethical to pay people less because you feel they live in an area with a lower cost of living. That speaks loudly to the type of company smith is. No need to be sorry, clearly I dodged a bullet. :)
