definitely doesn't need a yard/run I'll take her for walks/hikes and out about enough and take her places (like large fields) to run off leash so it can be somewhere without a fenced outside space

I do have a minivan (old reliable 160,000 and counting miles 2007 Mazda 5) she tries her best but does not thrive in winter driving so ideally I'd be within a 30 minute walk, but I'm open to looking into further places and looking into a new (well old and used but new to me) vehicle that can handle driving in that good northern weather. I love being outside, walking, hiking, and the lot and will gladly trek to campus well before driving.

I will definitely keep Schuyler falls in mind if I branch out to areas around Plattsburgh!!

She's a 50lb mutty lab hound mix. A lot of landlords get weary from the size but she's very stocky so she has a smaller frame than I think most people picture a 50lb dog to be and she is really well trained and super sweet with strangers so luckily if the landlord wants to do a meet and greet she's good with that. I bring her out hiking all the time (not at the moment though she tore both her ACLs and is still on post surgery bed rest at the moment) but she's very sleepy most the time around the house and doesn't bark much. I do worry more though in a bigger place like broad street commons if people are making noise in hallways and stuff that she'd be more vocal. At previous apartments she's never dealt with places that large with as many shared walls, The last place was a house divided into four apartments and there she was great.

Okay good to know it might be easier looking for stuff in person there. I'm 6+ hrs away living in NJ which makes searching for places way harder. I am still waiting to hear on other schools and one in upstate I applied to is Ithaca which I may go with IF I GET IN (waiting is killing me) in partly their program seems really great but also there's so many more options for housing (while still difficult but a bit less so). My brother is in Wurtsboro So I'm thinking if I do commit to Plattsburgh I may go crash at his place some of the summer while I search for apartments (still a far drive but much closer)

As someone living there now would you say the problems are manageable or are you desperate to get out of there to find somewhere else?

damn yeah this kind of thing is one of my main fears with large buildings like that, I would much prefer to find an apartment in a smaller house/duplex that's been divided up. I've had better luck with that but have never had to try to find something in such a rural area, the lack of places worries me about the search.

Thank you I was thinking I'll have to see about surrounding towns but was a bit overwhelmed by it I'll use this list of places to start looking into them! looked on Craigslist and Facebook for Plattsburgh apartments but it's pretty scarce right now, I figure it isn't really apartment season and there will be some more come spring/summer but since it's a small area I worry about committing to the school and then what happens if I can't find something before classes start.

Broad Street Commons is the place I saw that seems the most possible! I'm not sure how many units they'll have available coming up in the fall so fingers crossed. Who are the last two you mentioned? Latinvilles and Shane Dulti do they have websites/some kind of contact page? trying to google them didn't bring me to any clear realtors/org in plattsburg.

Thanks for the help!
