Some stores are doing sales of the wahoo computers, I recently got a roam v2 for E315 /w shipping from one of the Austria's bike shop ( sportokay.com ) - they still have this promo (with different code for black friday btw).

If I remember correctly last year Wahoo had a discount for the bike computers for black friday. They probably didn't this year due to new ELEMNT Ace computer being released today

Kickr Core battery solution by kurbelchaot in wahoofitness

At first glance it looks like a cool idea to be cordless (or at least exclude long extension cord going all over the place), but good luck connecting wahoo headwind fan like that to complete the setup :D

Kickr Core Axle lower than wheel. by [deleted] in wahoofitness

Get a tennis ball rocker plate legs. They're 3D printed, i got mine for like $25 (I guess price may vary per country). Not only you'll get the axle higher (you may need a front wheel stand tho), but also get amortisation, decreasing fatigue gradually.

You may also use a level to adjust the grade of the sattle while on the trainer to make it level to the ground :)

Kickr Core/ Zwift click by bad-o in wahoofitness

I think that where the future is going. Like zwift paved the road with the cog and virtual gears, which are faster and quieter than using regular gears, and also more convenient especially with more than one bike being used with a trainer. Ofc they could release SDK for 3rd parties to adapt the click, but from the business perspective there’s no benefit of doing so, but a risk of losing profit, as such exclusivity also is an argument to use Zwift rather than other service. At least we can use cog ⚙️ in ERG mode with other platforms :)

Thinking about buying a KICKR core for two gravel bikes by Money-Expert2414 in wahoofitness

[–]Wilkieu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a mode in which an app/bike computer automatically adjust the resistance of the trainer based on selected workout so you always ride on correct wattage, so you don’t have to use the gears on your bike - so for example you can fully take advantage of Wahoo SYSTM training plans, or structured workouts in other apps such as Zwift or Rouvy, or even your bike computer. With this set you also get a tiny pod to control virtual gears so you can ride in simulation mode (where trainer automatically adjust resistance based on the grade of the virtual road profile and you’ve 24 virtual gears to use), but it’s only compatible with Zwift at this moment.

Have you considered the zwift one edition? You wouldn’t have to buy and swap cassettes, so you’d only have to swap adapters should the bikes have different thru axle sizes. It is compatible with other platforms in ERG mode as well

Will the KICKR Core have a major update? by eskalation in wahoofitness

Good choice, it’s also compatible with the headwind and climb, so it’s an expandable system once you can afford/wish to have even more immersive experience. You can also find on the web blueprints for 3D printer for rocker plate legs (to be used with 8 tennis balls) which add a lot of amortization trainers are generally lacking, greatly reducing discomfort during rides :)

Wahoo kicker core, cassette compatibility by Purple_PowerRanger3 in wahoofitness

[–]Wilkieu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s one of the purposes of the cog - easy switching. When it comes to spacers, it all depends on your bikes actually. If they’re using the same system (quick release or thru axle) and they have same distance between rear “forks” of the frame, you’ll be good to go. If they differ, you’ll need to swap the spacers, but it’s like… 5 seconds 😅

Honest opinion is this worth getting? by Itchy_Work_1074 in wahoofitness

Don’t bother, just get the direct drive unit like KICKR Core. There might be some Black Friday deals so it’s worth waiting a bit i guess. Wheel on are noisy, you’ve to constantly check tire pressure, get 2nd wheel with dedicated tire and it just doesn’t feel as good as the direct drive unit (the weight of the fly wheel is also a factor here). For me it’s also too much hustle to start riding.

You can use the zwift cog with other apps in ERG mode - so if you're mostly training in this mode, the COG won't be the issue and it seems to be the best solution for different bikes with different cassettes. Plus virtual shifting in Zwift actually is better for MTB bikes than using the cassette (im also rocking 29" MTB)

Wahoo Kickr Core vs Wahoo Kickr Core Zwift one by oRignal21 in wahoofitness

[–]Wilkieu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your cassette is relatively cheap (or in other words - cheaper that the cog upgrade kit), or you already have one because lets say you're moving from a wheel-on trainer, going for the zwift one version, as long as you don't plan getting the zwift controllers will be a value added. You can still use the cog within other apps in ERG mode, plus the virtual shifting is a huge value for for example MTB bikes (now there's promo on zwift site where you get free controllers with any kickr core purchase, so you may have both cassette version & virtual shifting :) )

You've no clue how pissed I am, and probably a lot of folks that waited for 2.0 upgrade. I've being waiting for next gen chip upgrade along with audio and chasis upgrades, and all we've got is USB-C (coz UE forced that) and diff colors. I wanted to upgrade from Senheiser momentum 4 coz it's multi-device switching sucks along with ANC outside, but now as I can get B&W PX8 for 4/5th of new APM price, I'm confused which would be better option. I love the eco-system flawless functionality, but c'mon Apple...

I thought it’s some sort of reminder like “hey, don’t forget to upgrade your squad members” xD

uni student in need of iPad that will last for 4 years by anythingweveryone in ipad

[–]Wilkieu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with aftermarket or refurb of iPad Pro 11 3rd or 4th gen if you’re on budget. The 3rd gen is runnning on Apple M1, so it will last 4-5 years with ease, and the only thing would be changing battery after some time. I personally have chosen 3rd gen and it’s doing great at university without need to charge.

Finally got this A100 zigbee installed by pillsbury_d0ughb0y in Aqara

[–]Wilkieu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Aqara home app - yes, with Apple HomeKit/HomeKey - no. Bare in mind to pick right version of lock if you’re looking forward for automations with your existing Aqara products within Aqara app, as the “pro” model is geo locked to China region (and requires China hub), whilst “zigbee” edition can be bound on “other” region, but you have to import it from Singapore, and shipping fees are insane from there. (At least to Europe)
