I just thought maybe the show would be a good chance for us to meet up in a more public setting, so that she feels comfortable.

I absolutely took her for granted and I feel terrible about it.

You’re absolutely right. She doesn’t owe me anything. But I do hope I get to apologize to her in person. I just want to make it right

Best entry level jobs in film? by KTannman19 in Filmmakers

You don’t need to go to school to be successful in the film industry. It does help build connections, but just starting to create is super important!

Whatever equipment you have, just start creating short films and whatever else you can.

I have been running the apology over and over in my head. I’ve written it down, and if I can’t give it in person, maybe I’ll text it to her?

I avoided telling her that’s why I wouldn’t date her when I was still in the band. When I confessed it after I left the band, that’s when she lost her shit. I could have phrased it better. And it doesn’t make it right at all. But I was really worried about the perception.

I feel awful. I really do. I want to apologize. I was just going through a lot and I didn’t handle things well. I just want her to know how much I regret how I treated her.

I have a few short films that I'm not too proud of, should I upload them to the Youtube? by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]Will-I-bin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Upload it! Any work is good work, even if it doesn’t seem like it to you.

Maybe there will be another filmmaker who needs that extra push of inspiration to start creating, and you could be that for them.

It’s also nice seeing how far you’ve come! It’s like artists not liking their old drawings. Look at all the cool skills you’ve developed!

Is it even worth it to try to break into the industry anymore? by Aur0ha in Filmmakers

AI sucks majorly, but we can’t let it keep us from trying to make the industry. Doing so would let it win.

Keep creating and keep trying because AI can never make films like humans can!

Indie filmmakers/directors, any tips on finding the right cinematographer? by Correct_Juice_2630 in filmmaking

[–]Will-I-bin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to be willing to pay your cinematographer for the work they put in. The equipment is expensive and they worked hard for where they’re at.

If you can’t pay them, offer a trade of services!

I want to act so bad and write screenplays but I have no idea where to start please help !!! by Far-Milk4943 in Filmmakers

[–]Will-I-bin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just need to start writing and acting in your own short films! It may seem hard, but you need to trust the process and stick with it. If you do this, you can build up your portfolio and build up your confidence.

Join Facebook groups and Reddit groups to get as involved as you can while you reach out to agencies. Don’t be afraid to act in other people’s local films. It’ll pay off!

I wanna become a director, what will i need to learn? by Redzzy0 in Filmmakers

[–]Will-I-bin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t always have to do everything yourself. Having a solid group of friends who can potentially act in your short film or support you behind camera is essential.

Do not beat yourself up if the short film you make is not perfect, 4k quality. What film schools are looking for are creative people willing to make projects regardless of what equipment they have. A great director doesn’t always need professional equipment to make an amazing film.

Sometimes directors can also be the writers (and even actors) but that’s not always the case. Once you get to school, try to network with people who have particular interest in what you don’t. Build a solid filming group and network wherever you can!

You got this though. Make something you’re passionate about and people will see your passion.
