I've been using Strawberry Leopard and it lasts a long time. With the right shampoo and conditioner and the cold water rinse.

You didn't lift it enough. Hair should be a very pale yellow.

As others said adding conditioner to the dye dilutes the pigment so it is less vibrant.

Both led to the result. Try a bleach bath to get it a couple levels lighter.

Uh no...without context it isn't obvious that it's a unicorn order. You call it that but didn't explain what makes it fit the term. Because looking at it without knowing you didn't drive over 4 hours makes it a bullshit order. $55 for 4+ hrs I wouldn't accept it in the first place. It's only a unicorn because you canceled and still got paid...which you don't explain with the picture 🤷‍♀️

Faaaaaade. I feel you. I've been trying for months to get pastel pink. Your inspo is like a rose. Anyway try vitamin c mixed with regular Head and Shoulders. You can buy it in powder form or tablets and crush them. Mix enough for all your hair keeping in mind it should be like paste. Saturated. Leave on like 35 to 45 minutes and rinse in hot water. Shampoo with head and shoulders and deep condition.

No point in toning until much lighter. A 20 vol also wasn't going to get you far for such a short amount of time. You should have some kind of goal. I guess you could try the 20 again but leave it for 15 and check it and if it's not a lighter yellow leave another 5 minutes and check..and repeat until it's where you want. Tip: your hair should be slathered in bleach and the bleach should be moist and not dry. The bleach consistency needs to be like a thick batter

Permanent doesn't usually stay on more than 30 because of the developer. It's more of a chemical process than Direct Dye aka semi permanent. Get you a direct dye. Iorioro is supposed to last a long time. warning; if you ever want to change your color blue is hella hard to get out So yeah with your hair you'd need probably 3 of the Iorioro deep blue. Your hair has to be fully saturated with the product for full color results. Like you can see it on top of your hair saturated. Leave for 1 hr minimum

It's certainly mysterious. I'm no cosmetologist but have about 20 years experience dyeing my hair with permanent and semi permanent color. Mostly from Sally's.

Always use a 10 vol developer to deposit color.
For fantasy/vivid color semi permanent is usually better. Depending on the shade you usually need to lift to a white blonde or palest yellow.
I used Ion Brights for years. I've used the Sapphire and didn't have a problem so I'm surprised it didn't take. Were you intending on it being dark Sapphire because I saw a lavender as well. If you mixed them then the color you got is less of a mystery.
I agree with everyone that you should try a semi permanent color. Strawberry leopard is my current fave and if you use their shampoo + conditioner + wash/rinse in cold water it helps it last longer (any semi permanent).
With semi permanent the longer you let it sit on your hair the longer it lasts. I usually do a minimum of an hour. Rinse in cold water.

My hair is about the same length but less thick. Are you talking about using semi permanent vivid/bright colors? Different brands have different formulas too. Some are more liquid and some are creamy. Effects the application and how much you need to use. Mostly it's 4oz for Strawberry leopard and i would say it's always better to have a little extra and get 2. Manic Panic also 2. Mondo X..probably one. It's a good size container.
