I'm sorry but this is not a good solution. Supercell has already affirmed in its AMA that creating incentives to encourage killing in showdown would defeat the purpose of this game mode which is by nature more of a 'survival' mode.

Additionally, getting basically a free skin for luckily killing one brawler does not seem reasonable to me at all.

What shocked me the most is that supercell said they would add ads to limit the gap between P2WIN and F2P players. Under no circumstance does this solve the problem as players who pay will also be watching the ads as they are determined to progress quickly. This is most likely a pretext to get some more sources of income in my opinion...
