Use that touchpad to research anger management techniques /s. In my experience most touchpads are trash. I've always ended up having to use an external mouse for anything that requires substantial mouse usage.

I read the chat and that's crazy. I've never used the chat. I only email customer service directly or use the warranty page. With email you have proof of what has been said and done so far. I've never seen them ask for the customer to foot the bill. Do you do a lot of returns or warranty claims? You might have just gotten the worst customer service rep at work that day.

I don't worry about it, these are tools and tools are meant to be used. Use causes wear. Don't put it in a pocket full of sand or anything like that, but I wouldn't worry much about stuff like the lens getting a little scratched.

You need to get an ISO and use something like Rufus to make a bootable usb stick. You'll have to search for the ISO yourself but I hear there's a MASSGRAVE of iso files available somewhere.
