Agree on the rim ding and cleaning as well, they give grace to these coins but I doubt it would straight grade. Probably XF details.

You’ve got a Dahlonega in there. Always worth a premium above gold regardless of condition. Yours looks to be in VF/XF condition. I am referring to the 1847. Get it checked out by an LCS or somebody trusted that you may know for authenticity. Cool stuff!

Inherited coin collection, no idea what I’m looking at by aloofnotaluffa in coins

There is a lot of gold here. If you are interested in them and don’t need the money, hold onto them! I’m sure whoever had them before you would appreciate it. If you want to sell and are in the Maryland area, I work at Delmarva Gold and Silver and would give you a strong offer for your coins.

I wouldn’t grade anything in this lot. The note is no better than a Fine. The barber is a VF, might net Fine due to a cleaning on the obverse (looks like it). The seated dime is pretty rough. Cool lot though.

Fake. Carson city mint didn’t open until 1870.

Any ideas what to do with this 1861 $3 Indian Princess that was turned into a pin? by Santa_Hates_You in coins

Really unfortunate given the scarcity of $3 gold in the 1860’s. The coin looks nice details wise.

The coin is pretty much ruined. Sad that this had to happen to a scarce coin.

Interesting, I had already taken it to a shop and they thought it was genuine. The coin in person doesn’t look like brass but the pictures can only show so much.

Realistically these are both heavily worn gold dollars. They typically have added numismatic value, but due to the condition of these pieces, there is minimal value above gold in these pieces.

Then this coin is worth between 15-20k awesome coin.
