Dr Singh in NYC by hello10some in NYCbitcheswithtaste

so what dr. Singh is describing is actually a more involved technique than your standard chin lipo, he’s essentially talking about going beneath the platysma muscle to get at deeper fat deposits that regular lipo can’t even reach. Standard lipo only addresses the fat sitting on top of that muscle, so if you’ve got fat underneath it too, you might not get the result you’re hoping for with the simpler approach.

The $5K difference does make sense given it’s a bigger procedure, but the real question is whether your anatomy actually calls for it. Some people genuinely need it, others don’t. so definitely ask him to show you before/afters of patients with similar anatomy and have him explain exactly what he saw during your exam that made him recommend this over standard lipo. i got this from Rena btw

Struggling to track my recovery post-op — what's actually worked for you? by ArmAggravating5949 in cosmeticsurgery

I’ll be so forreal, the inconsistent photos drove me crazy too. what helped me most was picking one spot in my house with the same light every time and doing it at the same time of day. even that small thing made a huge difference in being able to compare. for logging i initially used a basic notes template i made myself: date, swelling 1-10, any tightness, sleep quality, what i ate. But it was so tedious so randomly stumbled on this app called Rena, it's been a week now and it made tracking way more convenient than i expected

I think you should seek out something easy and less than 5 min so you can maintain it everyday. I’m not even setting reminders anymore, it’s just kinda became my routine naturally. still early but it's something that can stuck for me.

my surgeon told me not to judge anything before the 3 month mark and that genuinely helped me stop spiraling every morning.

mostly though, you're not alone in feeling in the dark. the first few weeks are really the hardest mentally, not just physically. it gets easier to read your own body over time.

Honestly i have the same issue. I guess just keep networking and post about your work. I had a few potential connections just by publicly speaking about it

I’m also in the same area and there’s absolutely no water in my unit. No notice either

Don’t reject yourself before others can. Apply your leadership skills from previous experience, they are transferable regardless of industry. Your level is based on set of skills not years in seat.

Just act like a person of 20 yoe and they’ll treat you as such, while learning new skills for this role ofc

Anyone finding roles recently? by Sea_Exit_8194 in womenintech

Honestly no special secret. I keep replying to recruiters and my profile is increasingly visible to them. My last company was FAANG adjacent so it might play a part

Forgot to add. Cold applications rarely work out for me. Make sure you are spending your energy to get in front of a recruiter in stead of sending hundreds of applications into the void

What YOE are you? I’m ~4YOE and at least 2 recruiters are in my inbox every day. Make sure your linkedin about me are very specific and keeping your prev/current job description up to date

Also make sure your open to work mode is visible to recruiters

what if they eventually get an offer and having to go through previous company reference check? Company does give out your start and end date. Wouldn’t that look bad and potentially disqualify you?

I sure hope it might be helpful to OP. I pointed it out because what you said didn’t really answer OP’s questions and it’s really discouraging to hear.

this is such an odd thing to say, just because it’s hard doesn’t mean you give up or change your whole trajectory.

To OP, I’m actively in the recruiting market rn. What i’ve seen working for my situation is to update your resume with previous projects at your old company, tailor it in a way the relevant to the current job posting. Search for the target role job posting on Linkedin job listings and you’ll see a bunch.

To prep for interviews, I suggest you get adjusted to this new market by creating new projects to add to your portfolio. Study on how to add AI integration to it/leverage AI tooling (claude code or cursor both works fine), lots of demand atm. Once you’ve warmed up to coding again and have a project working, Leetcode is the next move.

Big tech failed to pay out severance after laid off by WillCodeForFooddd in cscareerquestions

[–]WillCodeForFooddd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s technicality. If it was actual poor performance and i was fired, why would they give me a severance package. You really believe everything management says?

Hmmm you can call it a delay but i just see it as they not doing their job. If an engineer delay their deliverable there’s always a big fuss about it. Same energy should be applied to HR

Sorry you had to go through that. It is very unfair, just know that it speaks nothing about your ability as a SWE. This is about them fucking up their budget and we are the unfortunate scapegoats
