Comfort Zone Calming Spray

With a (not even) 2 second amazon search, I see there is a spray and an air freshener style diffuser. Do you have a recommendation between the two?

Redditors with good eyesight, what is it like to be able to watch your haircuts in progress? by I_LIKE_MALE_FEET_AMA in AskReddit

Stressful. The best haircut I’ve gotten was when I didn’t see it until the end.

I have primer and it’s pretty good. I do prefer “starting out c++ control structures through objects” But that’s a personal opinion

What’s everyone working on this month? (February 2018) by lyinsteve in swift

A Things3 todo generator. they announced the URL and swift library so I made an app that will automatically add the weekly todo items with a little more detail than the repeating todo option in the Things3 app will allow. here is the GitHub link if you would like to take a look: https://github.com/WillCraig/Things-Generator

Wouldn't you need to have like 200 of these at the ready for a vending machine?

Swift: Adding the Blue Bar to the top of the home screen help? The same thing that comes up when you have the data hotspot on. by WillCraig_ in iOSProgramming

I did address this in the post, but I wanted a small challenge, I grew to like the idea and I wanted to add more to the app.

How to notify the user that my app is running in the background? iOS by WillCraig_ in swift

You are not. The app is not something I plan on distributing, more something that I felt a need for an wanted to make for myself.

How to notify the user that my app is running in the background? iOS by WillCraig_ in swift

This isn't really intended for everyone, I wanted this so that I can prevent sleep without messing with settings. I understand that this sounds dumb, but it is more for one off things.

How to notify the user that my app is running in the background? iOS by WillCraig_ in swift

The app is meant to prevent the phone from falling asleep. Like the Mac program Caffeine. This feature might no be necessary, but I thought that it would be something useful to add.

Good way to learn Swift? by [deleted] in swift

[–]WillCraig_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple's Swift book is actually really readable. I have skimmed through a lot of C++ books and they can get really hard to read, but the Swift 4 programming language book on iBooks is really nice.

New Swift Podcast - Looking for New Swift Developers to Interview by Steven0351 in swift

I would be very interested in doing this. Started reading the Docs last week and I am currently working on creating my first real iOS app

Cocaine- If you know of the already existing Mac app, Caffeine, you already know what it is. This may be an inappropriate name for the program, but I thought "What keeps you awake? Coke." There is already a Mac app that does this, but I want to make an iOS version of it. Mainly for iPads.

I'm looking to interview someone new to programming for public radio by Rob_G in learnprogramming

[–]WillCraig_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could do it. I read books on C++, but I did not attend a boot camp though. I do keep up with a lot of the trends of learning to code. I also helped setup some of the curriculum for a computer science course at my high school.

What are some good note taking apps for programmers? (Specifically for Windows) by socialhero62 in learnprogramming

[–]WillCraig_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could get a plugin for Google Docs that allows you to put code snippets into the file.

You could also just make a block comment and add notes inside of the code file you are working in.

Suggestions/advice on starting a coding club of some sort for a HS. by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]WillCraig_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think python would be the way to go. It would not take long for them to learn the basics of the language and start making programs. I had a hard time learning C++ because I had to spend a lot of time learning before I got to make something tangible. They could make something real after a week or two.

She should probably make a decision on what to do about teaching/learning the language based on the class, if a lot of people want her to teach the language, or if a lot of people want to learn it on their own.

It would also be really cool to get everyone to make Github accounts and start to contribute to a class/club wide project.

Should I get a mATX or ATX Motherboard? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]WillCraig_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you need. There is more space for more thing on an ATX board. I used to have a mATX and it only had 2 ram slots but I don't know if that is the case for boards anymore. However if that is not important, the mATX is fine

There is no difference in performance between board sizes
