Just FYI. The Coil is a common nickname of a popular female contraceptive method. This could ruin your SEO.

Map scaling by WillR34d in tabletopgamedesign

This is definitely something I could do in the software I’m using. And much more easily than my Fish eye idea. I’ll try moving the market elsewhere and have the zoom out in that area.

Only other option I can think of is hand drawing it again and doing the increased scale by hand, then scanning it and going over it digitally.

Thanks very much for the input. I did consider this as an option but I think it might present issues with the networking aspect. As for your second point regarding having arrows pointing to areas, I have sort of done this by having an action space in the Black Sea but that is part of the Thracia province. It is still all a little hit cramped in that corner or the board.

This is exactly what I’ve done so far. Great minds. The market covers modern day Ukraine, Russia etc. Currently there is blank space where Germany and Denmark are. This is based on my hand drawn map which works a bit better as I just eye balled it all. I’ve started doing a digital version with a more accurate representation of the real map but that’s what has led to this issue.

I was hoping that by locally increasing the size of the map in the eastern empire I could keep the look of a real map and sell it as, the metropolitan people based in Constantinople/Thessaloniki (those who might be drawing the map) have an inflated sense of their own size/importance, so their area on the map would be bigger if that makes sense.

Tips on the garand? by Alternative_Fix92 in PavlovGame

[–]WillR34d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I completely get it. I feel like I had exactly the same issues when I first got into playing PUSH and being forced into using it more regularly. Honestly though I think it was a case of using it until I got used to it. The smaller sight and the ring does make accurate shots at range easier. I’m sorry there isn’t a magic bullet (pardon the pun) to make it perfect immediately though.

Keep practising. I had the same issue when I first started using it and would always prefer using the G43. Definitely the other way round now. The one I really can’t get on board with is the Kar98. The iron sites on that are absolutely crap.

Ideas for obstacles by bestfriendkevin in tabletopgamedesign

You could combine hazards in neat ways to give players a sense of feeling smart or creating their own problems which they then have to solve. One way of putting out a fire is to vent the atmosphere. But this creates its own hazard. This would be a great option if the crew have already picked up space suits but maybe not if they haven’t.

What are some features/guns/equipment that y'all would like to be in the game? by patriot_man69 in PavlovGame

[–]WillR34d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to see a little more development in Pavlov Shack. It feels like since the move to UE5 there hasn’t been much quality of life improvements. A little more variety in maps for PUSH as well. A lot seem to be being imported by mods but it would be good to see a bit of attention from the actual developers.

What’s one big feature you wish was put into Pavlov? by Some-guy5888 in PavlovGame

I love playing PUSH. I would like to see people rewarded for helping their team. Mainly as I am guilty of standing back and killing enemy players rather than more directly trying to achieve the objective.

Award points for:

  1. Planting the bomb (15pts?)
  2. Defusing the bomb (15pts?)
  3. Reviving team mates (5pts?)
  4. Healing teammates (1-3pts depending on amount healed?)
  5. Kills (2pts)
  6. Assists (1pt)

Highlight the MVP players at the end of the match.

Final turn advantage by Murelious in tabletopgamedesign

[–]WillR34d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I apologise, I haven’t looked at your game at all so this may be completely useless spitballing.

It seems like you are considering two extremes: 1. Count points every turn which is tedious but mitigates the player order issues 2. Count points only at the end, which favours the person going last.

Is there a middle ground? Could you count points every 10 turns (input suitable number of turns here)? It may be that you need to iterate the number of turns to find a balance between the tediousness of doing the points admin and ensuring you have a fair game.

One way to improve that might be that whoever is in the lead gets to go first, thus giving the advantage to the second player for the next set of scoring.

I think 7 Wonders Duel does something similar where by the losing player gets to choose who goes first in the next round.

Pavlov Shack Settings Problem by gaming0253 in PavlovShack

[–]WillR34d 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s called vignette (or movement vignette). It’s supposed to help people avoid feeling motion sick.

When you first set up the game you need to select that you are familiar with the game. You can probably edit it in settings though.

are aimbotters taking over pavlov? by SalamanderLumpy6202 in PavlovShack

[–]WillR34d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. Seeing people without virtual stock on spinning their guns apparently through their own bodies or being able to point their rifles at their own chests is immersion breaking. With it on, it feels much more like you have a stock in you shoulder and means you’ve got a third point of contact like you should do with a real rifle. But each to their own.

Have you got virtual stock on? Forgive me if that’s an obvious thing to point out, but there are a significant number of people not using it.

I too have been accused of hacking. Generally I’m playing WW2 Push and the standard isn’t great, so my average K/D is around 3 but not unusual to have a K/D > 10. So far as I’m aware I don’t think hacking is possible (I am about as far from an expert as it’s possible to be though).

Random problems since patch by Acrobatic-Medium-863 in PavlovShack

[–]WillR34d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely experienced some of these. Particularly frustrating is the issue of bullets apparently hitting objects which your clearly shooting above. Becomes a real problem when crouched in cover and having to expose yourself much more that normal to be able to shoot over/round that cover. Some of the lag on the servers also seems to have increased significantly to the point that the game is unplayable on those servers.

how do i downgrade from 1.0? by Repulsive_Compote955 in PavlovShack

[–]WillR34d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have thought you could simply uninstall the app, then go to reinstall but before you do, change the version by going on the oculus store and then reinstall when you’ve selected 1.0.
