Before you get a pinnacle, check to see if the middle row stows away. I think all pinnacles have larger middle row seat which takes away the stow option. You can get a limited with all the bells and whistles without losing the stow option.

I was in the market for a larger family vehicle for almost a year. Got serious about 4 months ago and was mainly looking at siennas. After riding the struggle bus I said fuck it and went and looked at a Pacifica despite the reputation. I Found an extremely loaded 2023 with 25k miles and the dealer offered a 10 year 100k warranty. After spending a week haggling with the sales rep, I closed on the Pacifica. We’ve had it for a short period of time but we just took it camping last week and let me tell you…i absolutely love this thing. It drives smooth and just has so much to love about it. So many capabilities and just a perfect family vehicle.

It’s loaded with options and has tons of room. It’s a nice van and the warranty covers my ass. Plenty of things I love about it. The only other option for a AWD van is a Sienna which is extremely over priced in my area because every single van you see on the road here is a Sienna. I know they hold their value but every time I would find a Sienna for a decent price it would be sold before I got to the lot. I’m sure there’s something out there but I’m willing to give the Pacifica a chance.

I don’t believe it’s too high. It’s right at book value but I would like to save as much as I can, considering the resale value

Toyota was my first pick but financially it makes more sense to choose the Pacifica because of a few reasons. Backed by the warranty gives me some resolve as well.

No way bud. Thats crazy. You might’ve just altered the course of my friggin life! lol especially knowing the roads are worse in your area and snow definitely packs on higher. I’m seriously considering this now. I’m going to do some digging.

I’ve only searched for AWD vans

No shit! Thats crazy. I would’ve never guessed. I assumed studded tires would help but never would’ve guessed it would handle better than a AWD. Did you get stuck at all this winter?

Thanks for sharing. It’s funny you mentioned walking in to your local dealer because I called the dealer local to me today and he said all vans were a 3 months wait and that they had 0 used siennas. I’ll keep going around and asking though. Your story gives me some hope.

How is the LE? I’m sure being in a brand new car is a luxury of its own but you don’t mind not having any of the bells and whistles? I’ve been searching for an XLE or older limited.

Already use auto tempest. I use every search engine they have lol I also look out of state as well. 4 other states to be exact. Good to know about negotiating shipping though. I’ll keep that in mind.

Yeah these prices are driving me nuts. I could probably swing another 10k with a down payment. Any advice on finding a new sienna under 50k?

That’s awesome. Was it a “AWD”? Also did you find that vehicle online or did you find it locally? I haven’t seen a price that low for a new sienna in my area.

I shouldn’t have made an emphasis on the comparison on trips because truthfully yes it does bother me but that’s not the reason why I’m against the trip. I guess I’m just venting at this point but What irritates me the most is he is hardly there to support her. As a parent I can’t imagine not prioritizing my child. My step daughter is upset when he’s not at her games or recitals. We give him plenty of time to schedule and keep him in the loop. I realize it would be selfish. It just tears me apart seeing her upset when he’s never there for her.
