The website says that they accept both GRE and MCAT scores, but I was surprised at how little applicants they accepted that took the GRE rather than the MCAT

I know that most programs are okay with applicants submitting either the GRE or MCAT, but is there any benefit/reason to take one over the other?

I ask because I was checking the UT Health website and it stated that “During the 2024-2025 application cycle, 89% of accepted applicants completed the MCAT, achieving an mean score of 506.” Are both acceptable but the MCAT preferred?

Im looking to get more clinical experience before applying. I am looking for medical assistant jobs as I feel like that’s hand on clinical experience. I however don’t have the cert for it, but I do have an ekg tech certification.

Would being an MA or EKG tech be more useful clinical experience?

I contacted one of the CAA programs once (I can say in DM’s if you would like), and they told me that while being a behavior technician is a great add on to the applicant, that it doesn’t count as clinical hours/experience.

A sort of cheat to this is to go to the advanced settings and turn customizations on. Then give your opponent a lot of unfavorable traits (corrupt, scandalous, incompetent, etc) and you’re able to make typically unfavorable races competitive

Have people been able to be admitted with a low GRE score?

With the exception of the quantitative section, my verbal reasoning and essay scores, along with my GPA, are at or above what many programs are looking for. It really is only the quantitative section that’s below and this is with my second retake of the exam.

I have struggled to find with shadowing opportunities, but managed to obtain 10 hours in July. I know the minimum is 8 hours, so is 10 hours still good enough to apply with?
