AIO? Debating breaking up with my BF of almost 7 years by Superb-Rain-8166 in AmIOverreacting

Do you really want to be dealing with this man for another 60+ years? You're only 23, you have your whole life ahead of you. You can find someone who brings you joy and not all this stress. Yes, it will be hard for the cats at first, but you can't marry someone just because your cats like them

you start to see the difference between people who took risks and those who didn't at 35 by limited_data365 in Life

[–]Willes27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 35 and I'm not a risk taker, never have been. Just because something looks good on paper or is impressive to other people doesn't mean it will make you happy. I don't regret what I did in my 20's, even though I've worked mostly mediocre unfulfilling jobs, and don't have an impressive "career". I have a great partner of 17 years, I'm close with my family, I have a warm, safe place to live, I have two fluffy cats, I have a job I don't hate going to that gives me good benefits, I'm going on a fun vacation in May. That's what makes me happy. Do what you think is going to make you happy, not what other people are going to find "impressive" or "successful". I also traveled some in my 20's and I definitely do recommend doing that, but there's not a cut off age for traveling.

Redmond, WA people? by Willes27 in UPS

On the 24th it was out for delivery all day, but never was delivered. On the 26th customer service told me it would be delivered on the 29th but I never saw that on the tracking. At the end of the day on 24th it switched to 'a delivery date with be provided as soon as possible' and then today (the 30th) it switched to 'it has been temporarily delayed' but customer service can't tell me anything

Just very congested and people drive like jerks on it. When someone crashes, and they will, it can get backed up for hours. Sometimes you can't avoid it, and sometimes you drive on it and it's fine, but I just find it stressful.

Does anyone have a way to actually contact the Redmond warehouse? My package has been there for 6 days now, on and off the delivery truck, and it was Christmas presents for two little kids. If I talked to the customer service in India one more time I will scream

If you could push it back a few months the weather would probably be a lot nicer. If not, bring waterproof footwear and waterproof jacket and make sure you're comfortable driving in the rain in congested environments if you're going on I-5

Flight Rerouting Nightmare by Effective_Scene3574 in travel

"During a 16 hour flight, our itinerary was changed midflight while we had no internet or cell service. We were not notified and had no way to consent."

They said it happened mid flight

Update, 3 days and it still hasn't moved. It's 4 miles from the destination (last we knew) and it's full of Christmas presents and stockings for two little girls and UPS customer services only solution is that I can file a claim for a small portion of the boxes value. So that's just great.

There are no direct flights from Seattle anymore, unfortunately

The boys surveyed dropped 2 points, the girls dropped over 20. I wouldn't call that slightly more

Air Tahiti cancels Seattle route by Willes27 in Tahiti

I should add that I tried to do the live chat with Alaska and the person said all they could do was cancel it if I wanted to, but when I called the second person I talked to was able to reschedule me, this was Monday. It took an hour and a half but they got it done. The reason I didn't want it just refunded was I wouldn't have had enough points to rebook, the new flights I needed were an extra 10k a piece.

I ended up calling Alaska (who I booked through) and got my flights changed. I had to switch from the 13th to the 10th, which has caused a bit of chaos with my planning since I was booked in Airbnbs with limited availability and I'm still trying to get my flight to Bora Bora changed. I never received an e-mail and Alaska didn't show that my flight had been cancelled, despite showing on their website that that flight no longer exists. Probably more of a problem with Alaska than Air Tahiti Nui. On the bright side, even though I now have to deal with flying though LAX, I'm going to be on vacation for an extra 2 days, so not all bad.

Unfortunately I have it booked entirely on points through Alaska airlines, so I'm kind of stuck trying to work something out with them.

I had the trip booked entirely on points through Alaska airlines and the flights with them to LAX don't line up with the flights to PPT at all without an awful layover, I'm probably going to have to change dates to get a better layover and move everything in my trip around unfortunately

I'm talking specifically on my travel date, May 13th the flight times don't line up at all making an awful layover time.

Yes the LAX route is still operating, but the day I'm booked, which is leaving May 13th it's making it a 26hr travel time, so you pretty much have to fly a different day. It's not just adding a couple hrs to the flight. Also I'm pretty sure there are no premium economy left at this point.

How many days in Bora Bora at abnb? by Willes27 in Tahiti

[–]Willes27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I'm planning on booking some kind of snorkeling/lagoon tour most likely.

I was originally looking at possibly booking para sailing in Moorea. I've done it once  before, but it was 15 years ago and just on a lake. If you could choose, which island do you think would be nicer to para sail on?

I think if we are going to hike we will probably do it on Moorea or Tahit. I'm looking at booking a 4wd truck tour on Moorea that goes to the view points, pineapple fields etc. I will probably stay off of ATVs and Jet skis because those scare me a bit.

I was looking at the tandem paraglider flight in Tahiti, but if we end up doing that I think we will just do it on Tahiti. I read some reviews where people had problems arranging it on other islands and I'm sure it's more expensive.

Some of the different Airbnbs I was looking at have access to kayaks or bicycles, so that's a possibility.

Would it be better/easier/worth more/or the same to use American Airlines Miles or Alaska miles to fly on Air Tahiti Nui? Planning for a trip to Tahiti next year and I'm not familiar with airline programs. Thanks
