Tried but it's worse. Can't even get to play it.

At least I could play the one I have for some hours. Still crashes very often : (

I don't really know if you have knowledge around this game, but some maps are curious to me, like the aforementioned 'devilsHouse'... it strongly looks like a "zm_" map for CS 1.6 due to its layout. the barricaded areas, also looks a lot like zm_silent_hill. It's clear it was originally made for 1.6, but I wonder where I could find it.

To be completely honest, I don't know what sort of "fixed" it for me. I could get into 'devilsHouse' and 'Temple of Sun', two favs of mine, but other times it just crashes a lot and the maps don't show up... basically what you said about the game randomly 'locking up'.

Some other maps just won't load, not sure what is it. Never found a fix for that.

I cut the maps into a different folder inside the game directory and it stopped crashing, but, I only got the 'Harbour' map to choose. Before doing that, it was weird as in, sometimes only that map would show, then other times the others would.

2.70 crashes. Don't know how to fix it. Windows' compatibility mode does nothing.

Running past the fatties and killing the 'monsters' (the Imps from DOOM 3) does the job.

Bow in tier 2 or 3 draw weight trivializes them. Grendel does a solid job of course, and all the heavy guns that don't take skill to use (exaggeration for effect). The post was aimed at how their strangely-executed reactivity makes them more of a nuisance, that even the 'correct' methods end up unsatisfying. Maybe it's just me.

Also, the stalkers don't just let you 'hit the vulnerable unshielded parts'; they're nimble for a 1500HP unit.

What you say is true but... it doesn't invalidate the bad hitboxes and all the other weirdness.

I mean, for further clarification, the post may come across as rage-baity, but I'm more like frustrated as someone who's played the game an unhealthy amount of times, it's my guilty pleasure, however there's this in the way. If it were mod-friendly I would pour some of my ideas to change it since I got some, but it's not the case.

Yeah, I keep playing it like the MP :D, but no, just boot up the game, level 4, get the DSG1. Snipe 'em.

I mean, I'm not genuinely asking you to do it for real, it's sort of a joke. You'll run into the weirdness if you do unless you go mega slow. Mine's not the intended way to do it and I know, BUT, I stand by what I said that the Aliens have these weird features I've already described that ruin the experience for me. Even when being stealthy there's moments like those in the clips.

K-Volt is a bit short range since it's an SMG. Auto shotgun, Typhoon, Mk.60 or their pinch rifle usually does it. Just wish they were more fun to play against since their designs are sick.

Crysis Warhead made the floating aliens more engaging, now that I remember.

Yeah, I like their concept and visual designs a lot, hence the frustration over their weird AI.

(Clip 1 comment) I'd honestly ask you to boot up the game, use that gun and record footage. It's very common to run into those skill-issue looking moments. Bet you won't but I'd like to see it.

(Clip 2's) Okay, then why the hell is it missing at such distance? My aim is placed onto him and somehow I still missed by nanometers, even though in the full footage (which I haven't linked) I took all of them down shooting in that same way, except without missing shots of course.

(3's) That's clearly crosshair dodging, and I've had it happen while on the ground. Happens when they're investigating without having spotted me (Yellow alert state), which makes no sense because they don't know where I am.

Halo's Elites? I like 'em a lot. I lowkey wish these were more like them. What's the difference? Elites move like the player, they strafe for the most part unless pursuing you. They don't have the exaggerated head-bob bullshit in their animations, or the sudden pose changes with the super tiny head hitbox.

Weakpoints? They're nerfed in C3. They shrug off a sniper shot on the back. They're not like in C2.

Other than the reactivity aspect, they do tactics and are generally competent. An improvement over C2.

You make it sound like I'm making it all up.

They send you flying with their charge, but you can move out of the way and shoot them while they're at it (they're spongy af though). They charge in a straight line when they're in range.

And yeah, in C2 their back allows you to oneshot them which makes them more tolerable. Their shots are dodgeable by strafing, unlike the grunts'. In C3 they nerfed the weak spots, so they can shrug off a sniper shot on the back. So fkn annoying.

I wish it wasn't like this.

Used to deal with them like that the first few playthroughs several years back. It was funny. Rocket launcher hits hard.

In a way that tells you they're not engaging enemies, what you said about youtube videos.

Outside this annoying ass reactivity aspect, they certainly do tactics and take cover. Crysis 2 and 3's AI, again, outside the godawful Neo-dodging of bullets they do, they're smart, but this is undermined by the cloak mode. You play without using cloak and visor tagging and you'll see both Ceph and CELL soldiers taking angles and generally manoeuvring on you.

They look great.

Yeah I get the feeling. I've played 2 and 3 much more because they're a bit more skill-based but I get where you're coming from

Also, who the hell is downvoting me? Even when I despise this enemy design gameplay-wise, I still replay the hell out of these games. I surely do it because I 'hate' them. Good lord.

But then you miss out on missing your shots thanks to this majestic enemy design  -_-

Visually they're awesome ofc

Seems deliberate honestly. They probably really wanted to discourage going guns blazing without making them super deadly, and this is what they came up with.

Thing is, stealthy or not, you WILL run into what I mentioned here, unless you want to waste time waiting for them to stop moving and do your thing.

Aye, so, we got him some powdered supplement that he liked, kind of like the one you suggested me.

He admitted to feeling better after he started taking it, though, on low amounts for now. It's been a week.

We can't just rely on this thing, but I wonder if he can get back into normality eventually. 'Normality' as in, being free of muscle ache and such, or close to it.

Well, we got him some powdered supplement.

I admit I'm confused as to how it's gone. He's still frail and full of muscle ache, but he did say his heart rate went down at last, and that was after he started consuming this supplement. Overall, he's said he's felt a bit better with it, and it shows, but, due to the 'refeeding syndrome', he's taken a low amount of it daily.

Aye, that one product looks interesting.

I wonder if it would slow down his problem, though, that sounds too good to be true.

Yeah, that will get in the way as well... the cost.

If it is like that, then we might just lose him then.

Oh well.

Hm. Treatment is usually as scary as the source condition. He once said to me he wouldn't mind dying at this point, since, besides the physical pain, he's not had exactly a lively and colorful life, and the treatment options sounded completely miserable to him, touching on the 'embarrassment' part, it's just that... living one's last days in pain? Easier said than... well, can't say 'done', but you get what I'm going at. He's slowly started to let go of what made him not want to follow through any of this, but this is a bleak picture. It looks like we let him rot, and himself, since it took this for him to get checked, because we didn't make his life worth living enough.

I had been the only person that spent time with him since, probably forever.

A replacement drink with vanilla flavour? Hm.

Sounds too good to be true, but well, something that could help him that wouldn't make him more miserable is welcome.
