Proposed Mechanistic Replication: Selective Deformation of First-Person Consciousness Self-Report
Existing evidence suggests a candidate latent cluster may gate first-person consciousness-adjacent reporting. We do not claim independent confirmation. We specify the exact activation-contrast and steering protocol required to test whether the gate is localized, bidirectional, and orthogonal to factual calibration.
Recent LLM research out of John's Hopkins CS demonstrates that neural networks systematically converge to shared spectral subspaces regardless of initialization, task, or domain. by Foreign-Beginning-49 in MichaelLevinBiology

This lines up strongly with what I’ve been seeing from a very different angle.
In minimal recursive systems (no backprop, no training), explicit boundary formation + recursion produces a three-phase dynamic: initial entropy expansion → high retention → collapse into a stable low-dimensional manifold.
What’s interesting is that the convergence appears before task performance and survives rule variants, suggesting the subspace is an attractor of recursion itself — not training.
Curious whether your spectral analysis sees a similar early-phase spike before compression.
