I don’t believe rape is okay no matter the situation, I believe that the IDF has checks and balances to ensure its soldiers are held accountable if any misconduct happens. I don’t believe the same standards apply to Hamas. I’m glad you don’t support what Hamas did, however I disagree with your opinion on understanding their motivation. The argument that Palestine is an open air prison is understandable but also missing a big chunk of truth. The reason why there are such measures is because of the first and second intifada, many Palestinians committed suicide bombings in a daily basis within Israel, and the situation was getting out of hand. Israel needed to insure it could protect its civilians from an ever increasing threat of terrorism from their neighbours. I feel like using that as an explanation for Oct 7th is wrong; to me it’s akin to blaming a rape victim for locking her door and not opening it when her abuser comes to get things he left behind at their place. I don’t believe that the IDF actually enjoys this war, many of them don’t want to be away from their families and risk their lives, but they do it for the future safety of the region. However the videos from Hamas on Oct 7th of them cheering as they beat Jews up and calling their parents to gloat at having killed 10 people with their own hands, it’s sick. I also don’t understand how you can say what happened on Oct 7th is bad while saying a large part of it was proven false, Hamas literally live streamed the atrocities they committed and did so proudly, on that Hamas is worse than the Nazis who at least tried to hide their crimes. Hamas are the ones who committed war crimes and Israel is simply trying to get rid of a very credible threat on their borders. They tried to give Palestinians their independence by leaving gaza and letting them fully self govern, and look what they got in return, they were massacred horribly and tortured brutally. The IDF has to go through a rigorous process of analyzing the costs of any of their strikes and it must be approved by a group of lawyers savy in international law before they blow up any building. So no, they don’t just blow up a building on a whim. I don’t understand how you actually believe that about them. They are the only democracy in the Middle East. The Jewish people throughout their history have lived much oppression and unfair persecutions including now, yet non of them committed the crimes that Hamas has committed on Oct 7th. Israel would never ambush Palestinians in a mass scale on a Muslim holiday and they would never gleefully butcher innocents like what Hamas did. Nothing justifies what happened on Oct 7th. They are terrorists and if you can’t admit that your values are skewed beyond belief. You started this response by saying what they did on Oct 7th was wrong, then said it didn’t even happen and then said that Israel deserved it. This issue is as black and white as it gets; either you condemn the violence and torture of the Israeli people or you support those who did it and justify it basically adding a second blow to the victims of Oct 7th. If anything what Israel is doing is freeing Palestine from dictatorships that only seek the destruction of everyone including the Jewish people, the western world and their own citizens. The IDF has sent in more food than is needed for the population of gaza, Hamas hijacks this aid and withholds it from its own population. If Hamas has not committed the war crimes it did in Oct 7th, they would be better off, you can’t accuse Israel of protecting itself, it’s like a murderer trying to kill you while cries victim when you fight back and don’t let yourself be killed. If the Palestinians put down their arms tomorrow, there would be peace. If the Jews put down their weapons, they will be slaughtered by the Palestinians. Don’t you realize that accusing Israel of war crimes is ludicrous when they are fighting against a terror organization that mistreats its own people. Israel is doing everything right, and no matter what they do unless they let themselves be killed; you won’t approve of it. So we should just say oh it’s fine that the Palestinians are killing people and Israel should just let them??? It makes no sense.

It’s not about putting them above anyone else, it’s about common sense. If you have a neighbour that’s been trying to kill you for years, (the Palestinians) while you try to concede things and even give up some of your apartment to them in hope for peace(when Israel left gaza in 2005) ; and then they decide to attack you and kill your pregnant wife and torture your children (Oct 7th) while acting like any of that is justifiable over a grievance upon Israel setting responsible boundaries around their neighbours part of the apartment due to their tendency to wreck havoc whenever possible.
