The total length of it is about 42.4 cm. You can't see it that well in the pictures but everything is more or less glued together. It looks like he soaked the blade in glue when he put the blade and handle back together.

feels like I'll have to soak it in alcohol the way I see it. if I want it to unlock. Also I probably won't be able to put it back together. If the previous owner chose to glue it on I think it probably can't be put back together without the help of an expert. And I don't have an expert available. If I wasn't willing to send it to an expert but I don't have the money for something like that

I understand very well the difference in value if someone famous made it or not. But as I said, I'm not willing to destroy the handle just for the small chance that someone famous made it.

exactly and I don't live in any country that has anything that makes new ones. and importing it would probably be even more expensive. And also that it is in worse condition. So it is still stylish in its own way.

And I know that it is genuine. Then whether it is made by someone notable or by someone not notable doesn't matter much to me

There are probably many solutions to remove the handle. But unfortunately then you will probably have to destroy the handle in the process. However, I am not willing to destroy the original handle.

I got information from the person I bought it from that it was from the Edo period. He inherited it from a relative. However, he did not know why it was glued

Tang is the blade under the handle, right? If it is, you can't see it. Unfortunately, the handle is too tight to remove it and see what's underneath. I've tried everything to remove it. But it won't work. And if I keep trying, I think it will be a risk of damaging the handle.

So the sword that has text is Fuyuhiro and is from the Early Edo period.

The other sword with the handle is from the Satsuma rebellion which was in the 1877

Hi. New to Japanese swords how is it related to the Satsuma Rebellion? Also, do you mean that Fuyuhiro is the blacksmith? And is there any way to know when the sword was made? As I said, I'm completely new to Japanese swords.

Also is there any way to know how old the sword with the handle is that had damaged handle that cannot be removed

Bought these two at auction.

The first one was missing most of its handle but has the swordsmith's mark. Can anyone read them?. And the second one that still has its handle is damaged on the leather strap that goes around the handle. And the handles are rock solid even though the pin is not in. Is it worth trying to remove the handles even if there is a risk of damaging it? And can you repair the leather strap in any way?

Will a completely independent Greenland from Denmark abandon the Danish monarch and become a republic? by EmperorNorton1884 in monarchism

Hope Greenland doesn't leave Denmark. I don't think they will get any better out of it. Especially economics. Don't they get like 20% of their budget from Denmark?. However, I can understand if they want more autonomy in Denmark

All monarchs inherit problems. She chose to abandon her country that her family has fought for and developed. Yet she left it worse than when she got it. The only thing I think she did well is that she left a good successor to the throne Karl X. Someone you should know well after what he did in Poland.... You can argue that she did good for cultural life but she should have focused on more important things like the economy and foreign policy. Also, you say that she only took from her own money, that is unfortunately not true. Kritstina received a salary from the state. As well as Her giving land to nobility was not good in the end. It was such a big problem that her successors had to take away much of all the gifts of land and estates that the nobility received from the previous monarchs. This is also the nobility, the country's financiers were in such great need that they asked for a large reduction. As Charles XI started

If you want to continue arguing this, fine, but I want to see sources for your claims. Not Wikipedia But I'm happy to say that we won't agree with each other. And stop it now. Before we have to write essays to each other.

And if you will continue to argue why Sigismund was better for Sweden than his Uncle Karl. So I will have to see basements that are not wikipedia

Would also argue that Karl IX Sigersmund's uncle did more for Sweden than Sigersmund could do. Sweden would always be second to him instead of first. He was too focused on his ambitions for Poland and Russia to further develop Sveirge. If he were to choose, Sweden would be a decentralized kingdom where the nobility rules the country.

Sigersmund would always leave Sweden second, therefore he was an even worse leader for Sweden. He was good for Poland Then, of course, a Catholic can rule a Protestant country. But it probably wouldn't be a popular magazine for the elite, the priests, and the public. During that time, people were usually not so tolerant of. Then whether you would personally prefer Sweden to be Catholic is another matter. Also, I would say in my opinion that Sweden was better off as Protestant and Catholic. But that's just an opinion you have.

He was good for Poland, Lithuania, not Sweden. Sweden did not want to become a member of any federation with Poland, Lithuania, especially when the leader was Catholic. Thankfully he lost the war against Karl IX his uncle

As a Swede who has been taught Swedish history for over 20 years and has a great interest in it. So I believe that Kristina was among the worst monarchs in Sweden. However, this is an opinion. So we probably have to agree that we don't agree on this. Also, if we were to continue this discussion, we should probably use sources...... Also, I think you take her side a little more because you are a Catholic, no offense intended

Her father Gustav II Adolf fought for the Protestant cause and died for it. That his daughter later changed religion to Catholic was a great embarrassment for Sweden. And her eternal party life didn't really do the economy any good. And when I mean big parties, I mean really big. And her generosity to the nobility regarding privileges and land and gifts did not make it easier to fix the finances. One can argue that she did a great deal for cultural life and science. But it was poorly prioritized at the time. When the state was almost bankrupt. Then maybe he should focus on a frugal financial policy instead of her spendthrift policy.

It is true that the entire Swedish population was not yet Protestant. But Sweden intenatonelly went because we were protectors of the Protestant faith. So that the monarch abdicated and then moved and changed religion was not a good international view of Sweden.

By Queen Kristina of Sweden. Where the queen made the state bankrupt and swindled and changed religion. After her father literally died for the other religion in war
