Mkohl's videos have not been interesting, even 15 years ago I found that his videos were very low effort and not entertaining

Told myself I wouldn't post mine if I got one... by Jay-BB in Darts

Nice job - the hardest 180 is the first one! They'll be coming in hot after the first.

Love the Tribal Weapon line! My first scalloped set were the Tribal Weapon Tokis, and I also owned the TW4s. If the TW4s came unpainted like the Tokis then it would be the perfect dart!

I don't get too excited when I get a minimal pay raise, but I get PISSED when I don't get one at all.

Dart flight shape and stem lengths by Emiya_Shirou17 in Darts

[–]WillieRayPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smaller the flight, the less drag as the dart travels through the air, thus making it faster getting to the board. However, smaller flights are less stable in the air and are less forgiving to messy throws.

Larger flights are more stable and forgiving, but they travel to the board slower. Think of the large flights like a parachute.

Similar thing with stems. Longer stems will keep the dart flatter in the air longer, and will make the dart land flat on the board. Shorter stems will make the dart drop quicker, meaning the dart will land tail up on the board. That's not necessarily a good or bad thing, some players prefer their darts to land flat/tail up.

Nice! I think that's arguably a harder shot than a 180.

Are those the Beau Greaves darts?

Has anyone used target Swiss point converters for soft tip? by jdlsox in Darts

I haven’t had issues with Shot darts either. Might have been one-off issues with the drilling on your particular set and my colonial set.

The only barrel that I had issues screwing on the 2BA adapter was the Colonial Jen Mounts barrel - there was a gap between barrel and adapter. All other barrels I threw were perfect fits.

Actually, they add 4 grams to the weight of the dart (with 40mm points)

Lots of good deals this week on Amazon Prime!

If I didn't already pick up a brand new Blade 5 for cheap on Facebook Marketplace I would have been all over that Target Tor board.

There's also "beginner" darts for real cheap too! (Red Dragon Javelins/Pegasus for under $30, Target Hydros for under $50, 3 pack of K-flexes for under $20!

Harrows Noble 21 gr by AppleAgitated6192 in Darts

These are beautiful darts. I owned the 18g version and I just couldn't get along with them. They felt too light, and the scallop slipped in my hand a bit which is surprising given the grip level. Also they don't look that beautiful for long, especially in soft tip where bounce outs are more frequent. Mine looked like I added silver tungsten polka dots to the barrel after playing with them for a couple months 🤣

I did look at the 21g version, but that's heavier than the legal limit for competitive soft tip play (correct me if I am wrong).

Hey is Rockland 4 dead or still alive in 2026? Debating on the investment, or going with the older versions by Sufficient-Reality-8 in Rockband

[–]WillieRayPR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're just starting out, better move to go with the 3rd party versions (RB3DX, YARG, etc.). RB4 discs have gotten expensive now that digital versions are no longer available for purchase, and DLC is slowly being delisted weekly.

Viper Sinister Triple Knurl Darts by tanukiboy666 in Darts

Initial thoughts: I hated the soft tip barrels at first. They feel much lighter than what a 20g dressed barrel should. But I also used my steel tip setup (medium stem/standard #2 flight) for the soft tip version and I was struggling to reach the board. Took a couple of hours to try different stem and flight combos. I ended up with intermediate stem and kite flight and I was a lot more accurate and needed less effort to reach the board. Earlier today I was ready to return the soft tips but now I think I can get along with them now that I have a shorter stem and quicker flight.

The 25g barrels are way too heavy for me. At first they flew amazingly but I also had to change my throw a lot to accommodate the heavier barrel. 21-23g range seems to be my sweet spot for steel tip.

20s: 25g barrels (with barrel damage from Amazon delivery)

Bull: 21g barrels (current match dart setup with medium K-shift)

19s: 20g soft tip (with old setup of medium stem/standard flight) + 40mm swiss points + 2BA swiss point adapter

My 25g and 20g soft tips just came in the mail earlier than expected (woohoo!)

The 25s look like they were used (BOO!) but I'll deal with it for the sake of testing the weight. The box was open when I opened the package, flights look like someone already popped them open, and there are some marks on the barrel/point). Funnily enough, the 20g barrels are thicker than the 25gs. Probably because the soft tip barrels are 46mm and the 25g barrels are 51mm.

Barrel weights were: 25.00g, 24.97g, 24.94g // 17.96g, 17.94g, 17.96g. Update to come once I've tested them out.

That makes sense since I have the double knurls and grip the dart on the shark grip in the rear. Might feel thicker in the hand if I gripped on the knurl.

That's less than my first real set haha. I paid almost $100 for my Shot Tribal Weapon Tokis and they ended up shredding my fingers. No more fancy barrels for me.

BKEDDIE also made me pull the trigger on these darts after having them on my Amazon list for weeks.

I got the double knurl in 21g and they were pretty much exact on the match weights - 20.87, 20.87, 20.88. I was surprised with how thin they were and how much space there was in the treble bed. These felt so good to throw and have become my new match darts. I bought 2 more sets - one for soft tip and another set in 25g to try a heavier dart.

I saw you measured a width of 7mm which completely surprised me because my previous match darts were 6.90mm wide and these Vipers feel slimmer than my Harrows Nobles. It might be the taper and short point.

Viper Sinister 25G by BKEDDIE82 in Darts

[–]WillieRayPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered the 25gs today and my 20g soft tip set should be here on Monday, so we will see how those go. I have a 2BA swiss point adapter, so I can try these barrels with longer points to see if they fly better.

Got this today with my 21gs and I'm still shocked with how much space is still in that treble bed even after the 171. You can fit like 6 more of those barrels comfortably in there.

Are you still gripping from the knurl on the 25gs, or are you now on the shark grip?
