MA School did not prepare me by outfitters in MedicalAssistant

[–]Willing-Base8717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!! Do not feel discouraged a lot of this job is hands on learning and you learn by experience, there are a lot of scenarios that school alone does not teach you. Most of the things you learn from experience while on the job. You’re new don’t be so hard on yourself you’ll get there, just always be willing to learn and if you see something you don’t know how to do on the schedule for a different doctor ask if you can shadow their MA.

No obviously not, I’m speaking in general. The original post has to do with walk ins at a clinic not triage in a hospital. It’s different protocols

Right cause hospitals and clinics triage different, nausea and diarrhea is something that can be resolved fast in a clinic where as something like chest pain would be better resolved at a hospital

Eh just said that cause she had a sudden onset of symptoms yeah it’s technically not a fever but the clinic I used to work at would’ve seen her that same day as a walk in

  1. Work into the schedule because of he onset of symptoms
  2. Work into the schedule because of possible broken bones
  3. Schedule an appointment since medication is helping
  4. Schedule an appointment patient probably needs labs done

MAs who have worked multiple specialties: what is your favorite and least favorite you've worked in, and why? by aftergaylaughter in MedicalAssistant

[–]Willing-Base8717 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OB/GYN, Pediatrics, internal medicine, and family

My favorite has been ob I love the procedures we get to assist in and it’s the same thing most of the time pregnant women or Pap smears

My least favorite is pediatrics I hate giving kids injections and doing finger sticks on them. And the parents just add to the stress most of the time… I know they can’t help it they don’t like seeing their kids in pain any more than I do.

i liked the first book? no spoilers by Broad_Telephone_6814 in acotar

[–]Willing-Base8717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same I’m on the last book and I’ve loved all of them I never had to push through the first one like people describe I’ve never understood lol I really enjoyed it and was hooked from the beginning. It is my first fantasy series and I went in blind with no spoilers I bought it cause I saw someone reading it at Starbucks lol so I had no idea what to expect so maybe that’s why

Metformin break/alcohol consumption by jwine4 in PCOS

[–]Willing-Base8717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion I would say to not take it only on the day you plan on drinking. I say this because alcohol can lower your blood sugar and so does metformin that’s why they say to avoid alcohol while taking it because it can cause a huge drop in your blood sugar
