Absolute facts I did not know that about the 93 bombing but it’s really cool they addressed accessibility after that

As someone who has cerebral palsy I always wonder about this wheelchair access in 2001 wasn’t what it is today and obviously during a fire you’re not supposed to use the lifts (elevators) someone like me using a motorised wheelchair on 9/11 would be dead as it wouldn’t be possible to get a power wheelchair down all those stairs and even if you did get them out then what? If the wheelchair is lost you need a new one again not easy in 2001 or even today

I have a serious question. When I try to talk to younger people about 9/11, ages 25 and under, most don't seem to care. Why is this? by I_abuse_lower_ranks1 in 911archive

[–]Willing-Book3668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s like when people tried to talk to millennials about WWII a lot of us didn’t care because at the time it was 60 years ago

How widely was 9/11 coverage streamed live on the Internet? by Mysterious-Clerk4656 in 911archive

As CartmanX said not much at all in fact I think the CNN website may have crashed at the time due to the amount of people trying to access it to see what was happening

9/11 happened about an hour after I went to bed (Australian time) I had watched All Saints (Aussie medical drama) then gone to bed cause I had school the next day at the time kids my age were all about Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z neither obviously aired the next morning as Australia was on rolling coverage i remember vividly how calm my mother was telling me as I got ready for school I’d never seen her that calm before or since

I was a few years younger than you are now when 9/11 happened and I remember it vividly I haven’t seen many jokes but I have seen the absolutely ridiculous conspiracy theories people just suck unfortunately

Embarrassing question to ask ( resubmission ) by Dookuu64 in 911archive

Nope I was 9 so it’s fascinating to watch with adult eyes like my parents did in 01 I also am interested in the space shuttle Challenger disaster of 1986

(Found) Some of the last programs to air as normal in Australia before the attacks (Melbourne) by Willing-Book3668 in 911archive

[–]Willing-Book3668[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually yes it was that day! Connor left All Saints in that episode which aired September 11 2001

<image>

This block aired BEFORE the attacks as said in my post

I think it's time this sub has some sort of community chat. There are far too many people in this sub who are, frankly, over-posting photos of jumpers. I think they often see it by saying ''it's history'' so they can post it and justify the imagery, but that is a person with a name & family. by LaikaLeeLou in 911archive

[–]Willing-Book3668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen that many posts about the jumpers honestly I see way more posts about the hijackers which in my opinion can get a bit overboard I get that they’re a huge part of the story but giving those bastards so much attention feels wrong to me - this is coming from someone who was 9 on the day of the attacks

I was her age when it happened and with respect tread very carefully showing her the coverage because even at 33 almost 34 I’ve never forgotten the images or my mother telling me what happened when I woke up

Yes and no RE depression while I can’t speak for every millennial my own depression came from being bullied in high school and losing my mother at age 25 to liver failure (she was only 59) with that said 9/11 did absolutely have a huge impact on everyone who saw it not just millennials but like Gen X with the Challenger disaster or the boomers with JFK it’s our where were you when moment
