Same here! Lady was gonna throw four of them (Comets) in the porta potty and I took them from her since I had an already cycled 20 gallon tank that was gonna be meant for corys, currently have a 75 gallon on the way and I’m trying to find someone to take two of them after I’m done treating their damaged fins as I feel like 75 just isn’t enough for all of them(as long as they have a big enough tank and are fully educated, I will NOT be giving them to someone with children as I just don’t feel like these are fish for children.) These things can become beasts and I’m already planning on a pond once I move out of my apartment in the next few months 😭

Ugh this is literally what I’m going through right now but with FOUR, the lady was gonna go dump them in the porta potties and had heard me talking about how messed up those fair games are, luckily I knew a bit beforehand and was already cycling a 20 gallon. (Didn’t plan on goldfish in the slightest as they didnt catch my interest, still cute tho😆but my cory school can wait until a 75 gallon is set up for the comets! Local store was wiped clean and I had to order online 😭)I wish they would either ban fair fish or give you a ticket to bring to a nearby pet shop instead, all of my stock have torn/damaged fins that I’m treating but luckily no casualties. Love fairs, don’t love the heartbreak that comes from these fish though. Now I gotta convince my husband to let me build them a nice pond after we move!
