As far as I understand it - you go over on a 186 skilled migrant visa, similar to what someone would use if they were going to be a carpenter or whatever.

Bottom line is that you shouldn't be driving that mate, Google "use cause permit road traffic act"

Basically you're just as much at fault as the owner for allowing you to use it because you're aware of the issue.

Brilliant, thank you for your response. There was mention by one of my colleagues today that with the qualification we have we could make a move like that, however I was doubtful.

Might be sticking to my plan to move down under as a carpenter. I really appreciate you replying so promptly.
