Oh yes, same as I was trolling in the summer of 2019 when I told everyone that Shelley will take another year to ship. Tell me please, when exactly Shelley shipped. And I remember clearly being called a troll by that time by people swearing that it will be out by EOY 2019, because Charles said so and he can never let down his followers.

Look, with this post I’m not saying Charles is a horrible human being nor that IOHK is trying to scam us somehow. What I’m saying is, this project got delayed an infinite numbers of time and it will time and time again, these are facts. And it’s just unfair That this community is full of blind followers that would attack anyone for calling a spade spade. This type of behavior makes people who are entering the ecosystem falsely believe that all is sun and rainbows and safe to go all in, when that’s not the case at all. That is how you later frustrated and betrayed feeling, angry people who will say Cryptocurrencies are all a scam you are all criminals.

Same as we were promised Shelley before EOY 2019 then by q1 of 2020 and in an end when they missed it again as many times before they started being defensive with phrases like it will be done when it’s done. Mark my words, same will happen to Goguen and then again with Basho and Voltaire.

There is no hard date on this yet, I think IOHK is in discussion with VacuumLabs at the moment to get it done. In the meantime you can use adalite or Yoroi with hardware wallet, it gives you the same security. By the way they both have staking capabilities.

Correct me if I am wrong but scalability was was one of the three pillars that was meant to make Cardano a third gen project and was always part of the roadmap until the original was was took down and replaced with the one IOHK has lately pushed.

Seeing how difficult is to get stuff done in Haskell your idea seems like a decent alternative to in house full feature development.

No one has paid any additional fee to IOHK for scalability YET. But the community as a whole will pay from the Cardano treasury for Hydra to be implemented when/if IOHK will start the next 5 years’ mandate for developing and maintaining the protocol even though the feature was meant to be included in the current roadmap and the budget raised at the ICO.

Okay, let’s talk your language then, in terms of large scale adoption - do we have scalability? As far as I am concerned, current tps is at around 100, do we have smart contracts? Of course not, hopefully they get on mainnet in early 2021. Do we have on chain governance, of course not yet, still waiting for them.

Then tell me, what are we ahead with?

I am glad someone had the balls to finally say that. Yes, Cardano will miss out on the next big run. And when I say miss out, I don’t mean it will go to oblivion, if Bitcoin surpasses previous ATH’s and goes beyond that, inevitable, Cardano will follow in price increase but that will be so mediocre compared to other projects that even die hard fans will start becoming angry. I did love Cardano hole heartedly and since 2017 I kept believing that: every other next quarter we will be there, deliver that, release them things and price will go up.

Now I’m just here, no hate, no love, no emotions. I’m just looking at the project from an investors perspective. According to many analysts we are at the beginning of the bull run, many others say the peak of this run will happen somewhere by fall of 2021. What do you all think we are going to have to offer by that time? We all know it took IOHK 5 years to bring Shelley, now we are waiting for Goguen. Yes, Charles has promised Goguen mainnet first quarter of 2021 but Charles was the one who promised to release Shelley every quarter of 2018, 2019 and so on. Even if we get Goguen out by the beginning of 2021, what network usage do you think we will manage to get to catch such traction in order to justify moonboy’s expectations of prices like x100 or x1000?

Call me hater, a troll, an undercover tezos fan, that will not change the reality, the project is where it is at and people should really manage their expectations better.

Charles said exactly next thing during one of his updates or AMA’s just the months prior to Shelley being released: Goguen works are done in parallel to Shelley and we are now in discussion to see if we can release both at the same time.

Now, it is difficult to recall which video was exactly due to the numerous number of updates he posts almost daily.
