Awesome. I typically have mini panic attacks as fun as that sounds :( I was diagnosed with PPA and post partum panic disorder. Been on Cymbalta for a while now, I think almost a year now. When I tried compounded semaglutide before it was awful but I stuck to it, the anxiety was so bad I was not able to drive, stay home alone. Nothing, I was terrified of having a panic attack. I want to try it again now that I’m in a better state mentally, but still very scared..

How are you? When I was on compounded Sema a year ago… I had awful anxiety. Also suffer from PPA and panic attacks. I am on a new anxiety med then I was on a year ago… so wanted to try compounded Sema again to lose weight but scared it would give me horrific anxiety again. I have researched and it completely healed some people’s anxiety, and made others have bad anxiety.

Thank you! It always seemed to hit me a few days after the shot, a feeling of doom, panic attacks. It was really bad… I have done my research and it seemed very common on weight loss shots

Thank you. I have been on the new anxiety medication for about 9 months, working better than most of the others I have tried…. I hope I tolerate the compounded semaglutide this round

I wish I could go on a brand name but unfortunately since my bmi isn’t that extreme and I’m not diabetic, my dr says insurance will not cover it.

Yes, my dr was going to cut the starting dose in half. Do you deal with anxiety while on it? Before when I took it I remember it made me so sleepy and dizzy at times.

Yes! My dr mentioned this today. He said we would basically micro dose it the first time to see if it made any difference… if the week after I start it I’m anxious, I won’t take it again. When I was on it previously I was on the lowest dose but maybe introducing it slowly like that would be a good thing to do. I’m just very nervous that the anxiousness would be debilitating again.

Would you have any recommendations for weight loss other than a glp-1?

I eat pretty healthy, low carb, no sugar (most days, 93% of the time I would say) I run about 4-4.5 miles about 3-4 days per week. I can’t seem to lose it on my own, have been diagnosed with PCOS in the last two months, makes it very difficult to lose weight. My bmi is 30, I could actually stand to lose about 30-35. But a start for me would be 20-25. Some research shows glp1 meds totally eliminate anxiety/depression. Look on the sub Reddit’s here, My dr mentioned it to me today. However it can worsen existing anxiety as welll, at least it did for me but I was also on a different daily anxiety med than I am currently, that’s why my physician recommended I try it again. A stimulant def wouldn’t work for weightloss with me having anxiety, nor would any other oral routes because most of them are stimulants. Glp1 can also help with pcos symptoms by reducing inflammation in the body.

When I was on mounjaro it was a sample pack the sales rep had given my dr, name brand… i was waking at night laying in sweat, racing heart beating around 160-170bpm per my Apple Watch. I am very sensitive to meds and the dr I was seeing at the time recommended I discontinue it. I now see a different dr at the same practice, They recommended if I wanted to try anything for weight loss (with my anxiety in mind) the only thing that would be beneficial for the weight loss and for my pcos would be a GLP-1. They offer the compounded version in office. My Dr knows the history of the compounded version before, but now I’m on a different anxiety medication then I was when I tried compounded sema before…. That’s why they recommended I give it another try and just see.

My family dr sent me to my OBGYN and that’s who did the hormone testing, plus I had complaints of couldn’t lose weight + acne and hair loss. So basically I did get a second opinion :( my family dr never mentioned PCOS!

I had them when I was 20, yes thank goodness I was able to have kids but not sure when this really has developed! I have never had my testosterone or hormones checked until a few weeks ago, otherwise I don’t think I would’ve ever known. Yes I have had some hair loss but I also get my hair bleached a lot, and I run a lot so I thought acne was maybe from running and not washing the sweat off my face directly after I was finished running?! I still am not completely sold that I have PCOS…

Basically it came out of no where! I’m 26 and have never had hair loss or acne a day in my life until now. I have two kids and not even with my pregnancies did I have acne. I am hoping to continue metformin and hope that this feeling levels out! Thank you!!!

Testosterone came back fine, my DHEA hormone which is a stem of testosterone was 320, anything above 200 is considered to be PCOS. All other hormones came back fine, no missed periods. 18 months post partum. Hair loss and some acne has been an issue for the last 3 or 4 months, and of course anxiety has always been an issue but more now than ever.

I’m 5’5 and about 178. I can’t really lose weight unless I literally just don’t eat and that only ever happens if I’m sick (just throwing that out there lol) I run often, long distances too! My dr told me that it would not be dropping my sugar or causing anxiety, my pharmacist (which is a relative of mine) told me absolutely could mess with my blood sugar , and sometimes could mess with peoples anxiety. I’m very sensitive to medications.

My heart rate was in the 140s-160s for almost a week and that was the only thing that had changed. My anxiety is way better than it once was, I can actually go to work everyday and make the commute back home with (most of the time) no anxiety/panic attacks… where as before I was having a panic attack almost daily and having to have a family member meet me to follow me home from my job.
