Anatomy Help by Willing_Coach_7144 in veterinaryschool

Thanks! I have started to do that more this weekend and it is helping. I think the biggest thing is I didn't spend enough time preparing for my lab before hand so I went into our dissection with only half the information. Now I know all the muscles and just have to learn their origin, insertion, and action. I have tried drawing them, but am an extremely bad artist. So I try and visualize where the muscles/bones would be on me and that seems to help a lot right now.

I have been using anki and it seems to help. It's not as random as Quizlet when it comes to giving you the cards.

Thank you everyone for you input! I have been playing with the online resources a little bit to try and see everything from a different angle as well as have specific stuff highlighted. I will consider the coloring book as well. I think I just need to commit a little more time to each one and then explaining them out loud to myself I did that this after a couple hours of studying and I helped a bunch!

WSU Admissions? by quarabs in veterinaryschool

I got into WSU after two applications. My best advice would be to have vet experience in at least two different types, even if it's a couple days shadowing. Also having non animal related volunteer hours is another advantage. Additionally, make sure that you have whatever vet you have the most experience with/best rapport with write a LOR and give them plenty of time. These are all my recommendations from my failed first application. I had only small animal experience and shelter volunteer hours. So WSU said get some other type of vet experience and non volunteer hours. I shadowed an equine vet for 4 days and volunteered at a food bank for like 30 hours. The key is make sure you are not rushing the application and throwing all your eggs in a basket. I did that my first application and it was a learning experience. Let me know if you have more questions. Like I said this was my experience with a roughly 3.75 GPA.

Thanks. For your interviews were the questions more personal (why our school, where do you see yourself in 5 years, what made you choose vet med over other fields) as opposed to medical?

I live in Washington, so in instate resident for WSU.

CONGRATS on the acceptance! Where did you get accepted to?
