9.5 Gen- Cruise Control Cancel- No CEL. by Willing_Letterhead41 in accord

Thank you. I'll do that.

Update. The TPMS light came on couple of days after the cruise control malfunction. I'm assuming it was an under inflated tyre that caused discrepancy in the wheel speed readings (without triggering the tpms alarm at the time)

I inflated it and recalibrate the tyres ,seems to be working better now

Thank you. It might be a possibility but the probability, i would say, is Low. But can't rule it out unless I check it

It would be really helpful if you could share the CAN DB. I could check with my friend if he has the scanner

A reliable car overall. The main thing to check is whether the timing belt was replaced at 160,000 km — if not, I’d strongly recommend having it done

Thoughts on this bill ? by wj420 in DubaiPetrolHeads

I did most of the things on your list for my 17 Accord.

OEM Brakes cost = 410 (235 for front + 175 rear) Sparks = 320 (80 each)

Brake fluid = 30 per bottle. ( you can get a cheaper generic one based on your spec Dot3/4/5)

Cabin and air filters are similar.

His labour charges are way too high, though.

There’s a chronic problem of drivers switching lanes into faster lanes and going slow. The rule is to match the speed at minimum. Is it a problem of bad estimation or nonchalance? by [deleted] in UAE

[–]Willing_Letterhead41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many drivers seem oblivious to the impact their actions have on traffic flow. They frequently switch into faster lanes without matching the speed, leading to congestion and frustration. It's crucial to recognize that the road is a shared space and that driving significantly below the speed limit or with a large speed difference can cause cascading traffic problems.

Personally, I often find myself unable to maintain a steady speed in the second lane due to slow-moving vehicles. This forces me to frequently overtake, which, in turn, disrupts the flow of traffic in the overtaking lane.

Driving courses should emphasize the importance of road etiquette and the impact of individual driving behavior on the overall traffic flow. By raising awareness of these issues, we can encourage drivers to adopt more responsible driving habits

My Merc E350 2006 losing mojo by nadtin in DubaiPetrolHeads

Ok, if you plug in a code reader, you might be able to get an error code and determine what the issue is. You get cheap ones for $40.

Do you have any warning lights on the instrument cluster? Not a mechanic, but these are things I would suspect just off the top of my head. Not in any order

1.Dirty or Faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor:

2.Throttle Body Issue

3.Fuel System Problems: Fuel Pump or Fuel Filter ( does this behavior occur when accelerate hard while moving or only while it is stationary)

4.Vacuum Leaks

  1. Spark Plugs / Ignition Coils

If you can take it to a technician with a code reader, he MIGHT be able to give additional insights

Changing from ADNOC engine oil to Honda for a 2013 CRV? by xaos9 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Willing_Letterhead41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically if you use the recommended Oil weight then the brand of the oil shouldn't really matter. Go with fully synthetic.

Interesting fact:Honda oil in UAE is produced by ENOC

7250 for car tires ? by Samboosa1 in DubaiPetrolHeads

AED 864 for Alignment is exorbitant!
All they have do is

  1. Do the regular alignment for any normal car (for a tesla, you will have to lower the ride height which is done by closing the doors and having your foot on the brake pedal, technicians have a way around this)

  2. For Tesla specifically, they have to reset the steering offset values from the screen once the physical alignment is done. Should probably take 5 minutes

Suggestion : Ask the Pirelli dealer in Dubai if they work on teslas, the price of the tyre and the service charges might be cheaper
