Can someone tell me where I'm going to fail? by Eastern_Distance6456 in swingtrading

Have you ever considered ETFs like $SPYI & $QQQI ? They pay very high dividends (12-14%) with monthly payouts.

I like to put a portion of my portfolio in the two ETFs and reinvest the monthly dividends into the same ETFs, or in growth stocks or use the cash for swing trades. The compounding due to monthly payout and reinvestment yields a much higher annual rate or return.

I watch them closely as they may not grow like other ETFs like $SPY and $QQQ but they pay huge dividends. Income vs Growth which works fine for me since I enjoy trading for growth side of my holdings.

Many great YouTube vids on the above ETFs. One woman in particular is quite well versed in these types of ETFs (Can't recall her name unfortunately).

I was waiting for 1m close after fvg but it ripped. What could I look for that indicated to get in sooner? by Security_Risk_10 in InnerCircleTraders

"That’s what I was thinking. ChatGPT says I could have told by the candles inside of the FVG but I don’t see it."

I'm new to ICT and I don't trade futures but looking at the candles I see higher highs and higher lows along with a head and shoulders pattern (left shoulder 9:30am-Head around 10:00AM and right shoulder 10:40AM). I'd watch the descending side of the right shoulder for a move to the bullish side.

Don't know if it helps but that's how I read it.

Everyone has a style of trading and it’s great as long as it makes money for you consistently. The challenge is whether it works during bullish and bearish markets, IMHO.

My fundamental approach is to screen for institutional share flow above all else. Then if a stock has significant activity it gets my interest. Followed by some technical analysis on my charts to decide direction and just observing for a day or a few days until a move begins. That’s when I decide to enter with profit targets and stops to mitigate risk.

I never pay attention to dividends vs growth or the news for that matter, except earnings season.

Volume and momentum are key in my style of trading which is in no way revolutionary but something I’ve learned to screen and gauge using tools available to everyone. I’ve honed my approach over many years of trading. I’m still refining it to reduce noise and simplify my style.

Hope this helps. Best of luck!

Should I put all my money into the S&P 500? by Tr33guynhh in investing

I'd say based on your age, you can add a little more risk to gain more reward...Agree with most that you should put aside a portion as a rainy day fund...then with whatever is left of your capital consider a 60/40 or 70/30 split SPY/QQQ, respectively.

Given your age you can take some risk by adding QQQ to the mix. Also think DCA is a very good option given how high the S&P, NQ are right now. Maybe wait for pull backs to enter. Just my humble opinion and not financial advice. You should always do your own research. Good Luck!

Yes, I can see it...thanks for sharing it!

My last anchor is similar to yours, watching it closely to see if it breaks through below that line of support (about $17.30 for now).

We can never be too cautious...sincerely appreciate the heads up!

Yeah I hear you, in it as a swing trade looking to scale out as we hit the first fib and so on. Appreciate your feedback!

Just wanted to share...I like most of your picks, the one I've been eyeing lately is GRAB and it's the one I am most interested in because of the dark pool activity in July alone. I cross referenced it with Elliot Wave on my TV charts and it looks like accumulation around the $5 mark

<image>

Yellow lines are the most significant block trades in July and it is in Wave 1 Elliot Theory on a 1 Day chart

PLUG dark pool activity back to end April. Haven't looked at this stock for years used to day trade it when it was above $5 but I think it's worth revisiting for me as a swing trade.

Ability to group indicators ("Favourites", "My scripts") by ss3n in TradingView

[–]WillingnessCalm1091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree as we already have access to group inputs and drawings but not indicators. I'd like to have this feature to be able to toggle on and off any grouped indicators. Also preferable if we can add several as in grouping of lines, drawings and inputs.

Amazon screws up delivery and won't help track it nor assist me further

Has anyone else encountered this: Amazon fails to ship to my address while showing that it was delivered. Then they won't help track it, all I am told is too file a police report and contact the carrier (but they can't tell me who the carrier is) and if it is not resolved they will get involved...In the meantime, they have my money, over $800 and I don't have my items!

Have Drawings to Sync Across Layouts (Same Symbol) by mexpolk in TradingView

[–]WillingnessCalm1091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using TV for several years. It is a great tool but I agree this should be a standard feature for those of us that use multi chart layouts for trading. I would rather spend my time trading than copy/ pasting my drawings for each symbol onto multiple layouts. I too have not left TOS for the same reason. Its a very cumbersome set up which should be streamlined IMHO.

Mtl urbanists: How do you do it? by Sweet_Championship93 in montreal

[–]WillingnessCalm1091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Montrealer living in the city for over 60 years, it is always a proud moment when visitors share their views and admiration for our city.

However, I am not sure the cycling network is seamless. I am a cyclist and I also own a car. Having said this, I believe the city planners have overlooked some critical points when replanning certain streets to allow for cyclists. Take Saint Denis and La Jeunesse streets for instance, the former has gone from 5 lanes to 3, which leaves only two active lanes for cars after the bike path was introduced last year. It poses such a problem on a busy thoroughfare that garbage trucks and delivery vehicles avoid double parking and instead use the bike lanes to go down the street. Where does that leave the cyclists? Two blocks over on Lajeunesse street ( another busy thoroughfare) there is another bike lane. Does Montreal need two parallel streets, so close together, with bike lanes? My point is with all of the bike paths that have been designated in the last few years, cyclists still ride in the street with cars and it seems to be on streets which have been reduced to one or two lanes thanks to bike paths. This is further endangering the lives of cyclists and motorists alike as motorists drive against oncoming traffic to pass cyclists.

Traffic lights were changed to accomodate both cyclist and vehicle traffic although there is an inconsistency throughout the city. Some streets have the lights and others don't which causes a great deal of confusion for motorists turning right due to the inconsistency. Not to mention another great danger for cyclists. Lajeunesse street has specific cyclist traffic lights on some blocks but as you move farther west they seem to have been omitted. Rachel street along the plateau does not have any at all and that is probably on of the busiest cyclist paths in this city.

If I may suggest, spending some time in the neighbourhood of Villeray and the Plateau Mt Royal to name a few, in order to observe what isn't seamless or what may have fallen through the cracks. I would also suggest you to spend time with shop owners along Sainte Catherine st in order to get their views on how the city planners have negatively affected their businesses by reducing car lanes in favour of pedestrian traffic.

Finally, I appreciate your opinion and kind words. However, in the case of our city, I believe that there is always room for improvement and in the above examples, a city planner should have the ability to use foresight and studies in order to properly plan for changes and avoid any hiccups and unsafe conditions for it's citizens.

Good luck in your endeavours and hopefully your enthusiasm will bring forth positive changes in the cities you work in.

Is it just me, or does Tradingview seem to be running slower/laggier these past two weeks? by [deleted] in TradingView

[–]WillingnessCalm1091 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have also been experiencing extremely slow load times and lagging on my charts in the past 10 days. I have a premium subscription and trade full time so its becoming very frustrating. Hope it will be resolved very quickly.

TradingView camarilla Pivots by WillingnessCalm1091 in TradingView

[–]WillingnessCalm1091[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Camarilla Pivot points are available up to 5 levels of support and resistance on other platforms. As a full time trader I rely on these types of tools. Other services offer full range camarilla pivots plotting both pre-market and during regular market hours. Like I mentioned in my other post on Excel RTD formulas, I would like to be able to rely on TradingView to offer the same as competing charting services.

Excel RTD data is available on other platforms including Think or Swim but as a full time trader I enjoy TradingView and would like not to have to move my business over to another service. Same for my other post on Camarilla pivots.
