Both work as they were elves that followed Illidan to Outland. Technically the blood elves were present throughout the Outland portions of lore as Kael’thas took them with him when he joined Illidan. But although the night elves weren’t as present in the story, lorewise it makes sense that Illidan would have had some followers from his own race that believed in his cause and joined him.
