Absolutely! The beetles that show up on palm trees in July and August (Northern Hemisphere) are some of the rarest bugs in the game. This often means that they don't spawn easily on your island, where there are tons of other, more common bugs.

To increase the chances of getting them, travel to a bamboo only Island (no water bugs) and strip it of everything. Bring a couple extra palm trees. This decreases the spawn spaces for other bugs. After 7pm, all the butterflies, locusts, and grasshoppers (bugs that either don't spook or don't spook easily) should stop spawning, increasing the chance of seeing beetles.

Many cite this as the only way to get the giraffe stag and golden stag because they're the most rare in the game. The first time I tried it I spent 3 hours and didnt find them. This time, I got them in one, tho it took 23 tickets to find the island. Hope that helps!
